Ghosts can be creepy, but do you know what really scares us? The threat of privatizing Michigan’s community mental health system. 👻

Moving control into the hands of for-profit health insurance companies puts local accountability at stake. For us, this is about the people and families who count on care—and keeping decisions connected to the community they call home.

Michigan voters share that concern. A 2026 EPIC-MRA poll commissioned by the Community Mental Health Association of Michigan found:

💜 70% of likely November voters oppose shifting management of Medicaid mental health services to private health insurance companies.
💜 69% oppose ending local control and local accountability.

Our community deserves a voice in its care. Keeping that care public and locally accountable matters. That’s the Pointe.

Summit Pointe staff joined community partners last week for the 2026 Project Connect Health & Information Fair and VA Stand Down at Full Blast. 💜

This annual event brings together organizations from across the community to connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness, housing instability, and other challenges with resources and support. The VA Stand Down also helps connect veterans with benefits and services available through the VA and community partners.

Congratulations to the 14th Class of Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) graduates! 💜

These dedicated representatives of law enforcement have completed an intensive 40-hour training to strengthen their skills in responding to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Through collaboration between behavioral health professionals and law enforcement, CIT helps improve crisis response, strengthen partnerships, and support safer outcomes across our community.
