When most people think of cremation, they think of keeping the ashes in an urn at home, when really there are a number of ways to honor a loved one who chooses cremation.

1. Burial: Just like a casket, you can hold a graveside service and bury an urn in a cemetery of your choosing, even alongside a casket, in case two loved ones had different burial preferences.

2. Columbarium: It's an above-ground structure exclusively housing cremated remains. There are wall spaces in which the urn is placed. An exterior plaque marks a loved one's final resting place.

3. Scattering: The act of taking your loved one's ashes to a meaningful place(s) and scattering them. Always be mindful of local laws and regulations!

4. Keeping the ashes at home: As we mentioned, this is a common route to take. Just make sure in your final wishes, there's directives on what to do with them.

5. Memorial Jewelry: Placing a small amount of your loved one's ashes within a necklace or ring, for instance.

6. Plant the ashes: With the proper treatment, it is now possible to plant a memorial tree with a loved one’s ashes!

7. Stained Glass Keepsake: The ashes of a loved one is infused with glass to create beautiful glassware items.

8. Memorial stones: Cremated remains are compressed into a collection of 40-80+ stones. Each stone possesses its own unique color, texture, and shape.

Deciding on what to do with your loved one's cremated remains is a deeply personal choice. Please let our team know if there are any questions you have with this process!
