💚 June is PTSD Awareness Month 💚

Many people have heard of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), but fewer are familiar with CPTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). While both can develop after experiencing trauma, they are not the same.

PTSD is often linked to a single traumatic event or a series of events, while CPTSD is associated with prolonged, repeated, or ongoing trauma, often occurring over months or years.

Both can impact daily life, relationships, emotions, and overall well-being. Understanding the differences helps reduce stigma, increase compassion, and create stronger, more informed communities.

Whether you are learning for yourself, supporting a loved one, or striving to be a better ally, knowledge matters. Awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to kindness.

🌿 Listen without judgment.
🌿 Learn with an open mind.
🌿 Support with compassion.
🌿 Remember that healing looks different for everyone.

This June, take a moment to learn about PTSD and CPTSD. Awareness can make a meaningful difference in someone’s journey.

🏥 The Heroes of D-Day Weren’t All on the Front Lines

📚 History Matters

When we think of D-Day, we often picture soldiers storming the beaches of Normandy. But behind every battle was another group of heroes fighting to save lives.

Just four days after the June 6, 1944 invasion, Army nurses began landing on the Normandy beachhead. Members of the 42nd and 45th Field Hospitals and the 91st and 128th Evacuation Hospitals worked tirelessly in difficult and dangerous conditions, caring for wounded service members close to the front lines.

Their courage, skill, and compassion saved countless lives and helped shape the outcome of the war.

History isn’t just about battles—it’s about the people who served, sacrificed, and healed.

❤️ Remember their service.
📖 Learn their stories.

🇺🇸 The Day That Changed History Forever

On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in what became the largest amphibious invasion in military history.

D-Day united land, air, and sea forces in a pivotal moment that helped turn the tide of World War II. Today, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who fought for freedom.

🌺 Never forgotten.
🇺🇸 Honor their legacy.

🐾 The Hardest Goodbye Is the One That Never Stops Hurting

Missing my Alivia girl today. ❤️🐾

She was more than a dog—she was a friend, a companion, and family. Through countless hours of college homework and late-night studying, she was always by my side.

Gone far too soon, but never forgotten. I know she’s watching over her family.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever Livvy girl. 🌈💙

🐾 Forever Livvy Girl 🐾

Some dogs are pets. Some become family. Alivia was both.

She sat beside me through countless hours of college homework, long nights of studying, and many of life’s ups and downs. Her companionship was constant, her love unconditional, and her presence brought comfort on even the hardest days.

She was taken from us far too soon, but the memories she gave us will last a lifetime. I like to think she’s still watching over her family, tail wagging, keeping an eye on all of us.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever my Livvy girl. ❤️🐾

Have you ever had a pet leave paw prints on your heart that never fade? 🌈💙

📚 Feed Your Mind, Fuel Your Journey

One of the best wellness habits isn’t found in a gym or on a plate—it’s lifelong learning.

Reading helps keep our minds active, expands our perspective, strengthens critical thinking, and introduces us to ideas we may never encounter otherwise. I love exploring a little bit of everything—wellness, history, travel, disability advocacy, nature, science, and the everyday stories that connect us all.

An eclectic curiosity keeps the brain engaged and reminds us that growth doesn’t stop with age. Every book, article, conversation, or new experience adds another piece to the journey.

✨ What are you reading, learning, or curious about right now?

📖 Keep learning.
🧠 Keep growing.

✨ The 8 Dimensions of Wellness: Which One Needs Your Attention Today? ✨

✨ Wellness is not just one thing or one factor. It IS how ALL of the pieces of your life work together or do not work together.

The 8 dimensions of wellness are:
💪 Physical
🧠 Emotional
👥 Social
💼 Occupational
💰 Financial
📚 Intellectual
🙏 Spiritual
🌿 Environmental

When one area feels out of balance, it’s often reflected in others.

That’s why self-care isn’t always bubble baths and treats. Sometimes it’s getting enough sleep, setting a boundary, asking for help, taking a walk, managing your finances, learning something new, or spending time in nature.

💭 Today’s wellness check-in:
What do you truly need right now—not just what you want?

Small, intentional choices add up. Progress over perfection. Balance over burnout.

✨ Self-care starts with acceptance.

Wellness isn’t just rest, exercise, or healthy habits—it’s creating space for everyone to feel seen, valued, and included.

During Pride Month and as we celebrate Disability Pride, let’s remember that every person matters regardless of ability, race, identity, or sexual orientation. Inclusion, kindness, and understanding are forms of self-care for our communities too.

Take care of yourself, and help others feel they belong.

🌈💙 Journey well,
Jess

📸 This photo just became a piece of history. 🚨 End of an Era?

The CITGO sign has long been Boston’s skyline landmark, guiding light, and Fenway staple. Now set to move further east, this view is about to change.

Was it a landmark, a guiding light, or both for you? ⚾🏙️❤️
