While we wait for the Press Enterprise Best-of-The-Best three county contest voting round to begin on June 7th, we have more great news. Per Google’s own Best-of-The-Best, we won for Berwick family practice!

Good evening, friends! We are finally switching our electronic medical record software, as mentioned in a previous post. This week and over the next couple of weeks, you will likely receive numerous reminders by whatever means you decided upon. We draw the line at smoke signals. We will also soon be releasing the ability to self-schedule, should you choose to go that route. Have no fear, Christy isn't going anywhere unless she chooses to.

Starting in approximately two weeks, we will also have a tablet available for you to use to fill out some electronic forms while you wait for your appointment, though you may fill them out at home. We realize not everyone has access to a computer or tablet. And, if you're like me, you probably have difficulty filling things out on a little phone. Thank you again, everyone for bearing with us through this transition. The result will ultimately make for a smoother experience.

Thank you to our amazing Susquehanna Valley family! Once again, we have been advanced from the nomination round to the top nominee voting round for the Press-Enterprise Best-of-the-Best contest covering Columbia, Montour, and lower Luzerne Counties. Each and every year this contest has existed, we have been fortunate enough to come in both as the winner and as a runner-up. The voting round opens the 1st weekend in June. We will post the link once it is live. We appreciate you all!

Good evening, neighbors! As many of you know, the Press-Enterprise runs the best-of-the-best contest each spring. This contest rates businesses for their services and products in Columbia, Montour, and lower Luzerne counties.

The contest does not change the care we provide, but it is a fun contest to see what community support is out there. Although this is a game of numbers, and with one provider we have fewer, we have somehow managed to finish in first, second, or third each year. So, if you would like to vote for us in the opening nomination round, the contest begins tomorrow. You can vote once per day. Thank you to all who take the time out of their busy days to cast their votes. Don't forget to vote in other categories as well to be eligible for the $100 prizes. Enjoy this beautiful spring weather!

Good evening, Susquehanna Valley neighbors! Do you happen to suffer from urinary incontinence, pelvic floor pain, or sexual troubles? We feel your pain, so, we’re adding a service to our office that can treat them all. Check in will be no different than our regular office patients for appropriate discretion and privacy. As with every service we recommend, we have tried the product.

Emsella is a non-invasive, 28-minute chair treatment using High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to treat urinary incontinence and strengthen pelvic floor muscles. It induces thousands of supramaximal contractions, equivalent to over 11,000 Kegel exercises per session, improving bladder control, reducing leakage, and enhancing intimate health for men and women without recovery time. Commonly referred to as rejuvinating. No longer do you have to fear sneezing, coughing, laughing, exercise, etc.

Contraindications: It may not be suitable for those with pacemakers or metal implants, requiring a consultation with a medical provider.

The best part, we are donating a full package to The Mayor’s Ball April 25th, so get your tickets before they’re sold out. This is a $1200 value that for many of us can be life changing. This treatment is covered by some, but not all insurances. You do not have to be a regular family practice patient to purchase or win a package. Give us a call to schedule beginning April 15th, 570-616-8594.

Good morning, Susquehanna Valley neighbors! At last, the temperatures seem to be easing up. At this time of year, you may be looking for ways to cut costs to keep your family moving forward and to plan for that much-deserved vacation. Our family would like to point out that we are actually helping you save that money by being an independent family practice clinic. Our office does that by not charging any hidden or unexpected fees. Independent practice use has its benefits. You'll want to keep that in mind for other healthcare services as well. Our family already uses independent offices wherever possible, and now we have another reason to continue doing so. Story below.

Our office, like your family and many other offices, needs to occasionally reorganize its finances to continue its mission of helping the greater Susquehanna Valley receive excellent care. Over the next few weeks, you will begin to notice a transition from our current EMR system. We are moving from Athena to Tebra. They both have all the desired options you've come to enjoy. Tebra, however, allows us to offer an easy-to-use online scheduling feature. Better yet, it has a "next available appointment" button to save you some time searching. We're hoping for no hiccups, but if there are any, please know that we will work to correct them. Change isn't always easy, but it's often needed. When fully operational, we will add a scheduling button (widget) to both our page and our traditional website. Another new feature is a post-visit request for you to rate your visit and provide feedback. This will hopefully continue to allow us to improve the services we offer you and your families.

While out clearing your porches, walks, and driveways, be sure to dress warm, take frequent breaks, and try to push the snow where possible to avoid the extra stress of lifting and throwing it. If you or a neighbor has a leaf blower, give it a try. This stuff blows away with ease! Most importantly, listen to your body. Stay safe.

We know that breaking events come with a lot of information. That's why we've gathered everything we know, all in one place, as Pennsylvania braces for a major winter storm.

Check out our website for all the deets. Together we get ready, and together we stay safe. 💪✅

Good morning, Susquehanna Valley! Can anyone tell us where 2025 went?! It could be the speeding of time as the aging process plays out, but we are hearing this question a lot. With all the daily stressors we are all experiencing, it's no wonder.

This leads me to another common question we hear. How should I approach a New Year's resolution? Those resolutions can and indeed should help reduce stress. It could be less screen time, or more whole foods and greens in your diet. Both great ideas.

Maybe it's more in the dreaded exercise realm. Well, if you, like many others, are aiming to be more active, we encourage you to have your annual physical completed to get a baseline of your health (free with most insurance plans). Second, we encourage you to start off small. You've likely heard the old adage of having to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run. It's not only true of infants. Give yourself the best chances of succeeding. Start with one extra flight of stairs above your regular routine, or one walk around your block. As that becomes the new norm, you can add to it. Remember, life should be a marathon, not a sprint! If the walks and roads are icy, walking around your home repeatedly can be a good starting point. If stretching to become more limber is your goal, again, start small and slow to avoid injury.

If you're trying to get away from the all-too-common gaslighting from your current healthcare provider, please give us a call. We would love to help.
