Specialized orthopedic care doesn’t always mean traveling out of town.

Through our partnership with Mammoth Orthopedic Institute (MOI), Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC) treatment is available to patients right here in Bishop.

BMAC uses a concentrate prepared from a patient’s own bone marrow and may be considered for certain orthopedic conditions and injuries, including osteoarthritis, tendon and cartilage injuries, and some fractures.

BMAC isn’t the right treatment for everyone. An orthopedic specialist can help determine whether it may be an appropriate option based on your condition and treatment goals.

This Pharmacy Week, we’re recognizing our Pharmacy team and the important role they play in caring for our community.

Did you know many infusion treatments, including cancer treatment and other specialty therapies, are available right here in Bishop?

Traveling hours for care can add even more stress to an already difficult time. Our Infusion Center helps patients receive chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, hydration therapy, blood transfusions, injections, and other infusion therapies closer to home.

A cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of questions, and for patients in rural communities, getting the care they need may also mean coordinating referrals, traveling long distances, arranging transportation, managing appointments, and finding additional support.

At Northern Inyo Healthcare District, our oncology patient navigation services are here to help patients and families through those challenges.

In this episode of Mountain Medicine, our Oncology Navigator, Teresa Bell, shares how patient navigation can help connect patients with specialists, coordinate care, identify helpful resources, and provide guidance throughout the cancer treatment journey.

Most importantly, we want our patients and families to know: you do not have to navigate cancer care alone. It’s okay to ask for help.
