Summer is a high-risk window for substance use. More people have their first cannabis use over the summer than during any other time during the year.

Why are there increases?
🏫Less Structure
⛱️More Unsupervised Time
🎤High-risk Events
🌻A False Sense of Safety

Summer is also a great time to start a treatment program:
*More flexible schedules with less school obligations
*A chance to interrupt escalation early
*Skills that can be developed before school starts again
*Families can reset boundaries and rebuild trust
*Early intervention leads to the best possible results.

Summer can increase teen substance use risk due to less structure and more exposure. Learn warning signs and why summer can be a smart time to start treatment.

📢 HIRING: Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDCA, LCDC II/III) or Mental Health Counselor (Counselor, Psychologist, Social Worker) or a trainee/student

ASAP Cincinnati – Adolescent & Young Adult Outpatient Program
Are you passionate about helping young people (ages 12–26) navigate the journey of recovery? ASAP Cincinnati is looking for a motivated, reliable, and high-energy clinical staff person to join our CARF-accredited team, primarily on weekends.

We provide trauma-informed, developmentally responsive care in a supportive environment. We aren't just looking for someone to "run a group"—we’re looking for clinicians who can truly connect with youth and build a bridge to lasting change.

The Role:
Active Clinical Engagement: Facilitate group and individual sessions using evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, MI). We value counselors who focus on interactive, creative engagement.

Assessment & Treatment: Conduct biopsychosocial intakes and develop individualized, measurable treatment plans under the guidance of an independently licensed supervisor.

Collaborative Care: Act as a bridge between families, schools, and external providers to ensure a holistic approach to recovery.

Professional Standards: Maintain high-quality, timely documentation (HIPAA & 42 CFR Part 2 compliant) and participate in multidisciplinary team consultations.

What You Bring:
Licensure: Current Ohio license in good standing or a student/trainee in an accredited program.
Experience: A heart for working with adolescents and young adults. Previous experience with teen and young adult clients is strongly preferred.
Reliability: Our clients and team depend on consistency. We value punctuality, responsiveness, and professional accountability.
Commitment to DEI: A dedication to providing culturally responsive, inclusive care for all gender identities, backgrounds, and neurodiversities.

You see what's coming if they don't course correct. Your teen doesn't. They just see you "interfering."

As a parent, you develop this sixth sense—the ability to spot a problem before it spirals out of control. But when your child hits their teens, those warning signs become more hidden and parents often start to question their judgment.

Here's the thing: early intervention is exponentially more effective than trying to course-correct in adulthood.

Helping your teen or young adult find balance in their life isn't about control. It's protection and finding passion for a life well lived.

You don't have to wait for a crisis. Start with an assessment.

A parent’s “foresight” becomes a guide for teen treatment for mental health and substance use. Learn why early intervention matters—and how an ASAP can help.
