Humans are wired to heal in relationship. For many of us, other people become mirrors that either reinforce our shame or reflect hope and possibility.

When one sees another speak honestly without apologizing,
take up space without guilt,
set boundaries with kindness,
celebrate themselves without arrogance,
They receive evidence that "I can too."

This is called social modeling, and it is one of the strongest ways people build confidence. This goes even deeper.....

Historically, humans survived through community. From gatherings to birth babies, prepare food, grieve losses, tell stories, celebrate and protect one another.... belonging to the group was essential for survival.

When we support one another, rather than compete, we recreate something our nervous systems have long depended on: safety in connection.

Empowerment says: "I don't need you to become smaller so I can shine. We both get to fully exist."

THAT is profoundly healing. 💚

Reflection from Rotten Honey:

An ordinary room became something sacred.

For a few precious hours, we stepped through a portal and entered a space where creativity became medicine, vulnerability became strength, and strangers quickly became kindred spirits.

Watching these courageous women trust the process, gather forgotten pieces, and create beautiful things reminded me that transformation rarely announces itself.

It simply asks us to show up.

My heart is still full from the laughter, the quiet moments, the tears, the wonder, and the magic we shared.

Thank you to every woman who helped turn an ordinary space and afternoon into something radical, potent and freeing!

Until we gather again... 🍯✨

Rotten Honey Intuitive Collage Workshop extends an invitation to wander inward, gathering the images that seem to choose you, trusting that absolutely nothing arrives by accident. Through intuitive collage, you'll create 3 cards that give shape to your inner world.

No artistic skill or talent is required.

Come with an open heart, a curious spirit, and a willingness to follow the whispers.

Together, we'll gather in circle, cultivate space for creativity, and make a little magic as we discover the sweet truths that have fermented into wisdom.

During the event, comfort/grounding items will be available and we'll enjoy a nutritious salad bar.

There are only a few seats left for this workshop. Space is limited to protect the energetic and emotional container of the gathering.

The body remembers what the mind cannot always name. In many energy medicine traditions, emotions are seen as living currents that move through us. When they are fully felt, they flow. When they are suppressed, they settle. Nestling into muscles, fascia, breath, and the energy body. Healing is about creating enough safety and compassion for that ancient energy to soften, unravel, and release to the earth.

Your body has never been working against you; it has simply been carrying your story.

Today, I was repeatedly reminded why I do this work.... Multiple people were moved to tears as they reflected on what our therapeutic relationship has meant to them.

They felt truly seen. Truly known. Truly safe.

Trauma doesn't just happen in relationships, it happens when trust is broken, needs go unmet, and safety is absent.

Healing also happens in relationship. I believe it is the primary conduit to change.

When someone experiences consistency instead of unpredictability, curiosity instead of judgment, and compassion instead of shame, the nervous system can calm.

Protective strategies no longer have to work so hard. The parts of ourselves that have stayed hidden under that protection begin to emerge.

I don't believe therapy is about "fixing" people.

I believe it's about creating the conditions where people can safely nurture themselves.

For me, our relationship isn't just part of the work.

It is the work. 🤍

Over the past several years, I've had the privilege of working alongside a growing number of people living with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

I wish more people understood that the diagnosis itself is not what defines them. The fear, misunderstanding, and stigma surrounding it often causes more suffering than the condition itself.

I don't see the stereotypes that movies have taught us to expect.....

I see brilliance.
I see creativity.
I see profound courage.
I see people whose minds did exactly what they needed to do to survive experiences that no person should ever have endured.

Fun fact: DID doesn't develop because someone is "weak" or "broken." It develops in early childhood as an extraordinary survival response, when a child's brain creatively adapts to overwhelming, chronic trauma before their sense of self has fully come together. In many ways, DID is evidence of an incredibly adaptive system—not a defective one.

When therapy is built on trust instead of fear... when consent is prioritized... when safety is cultivated instead of assumed... people begin to unmask.

In this kind of relationship, every part of a person begins to learn they don't have to hide anymore.

When that happens, something sacred and beautiful unfolds.

The masks soften.
The protective walls begin to relax.
People become more fully themselves.

There is laughter. There is grief. There is wonder. There is healing that reaches far beyond what traditional talk therapy alone can often access.

It is an incredible honor to witness that process.

My role isn't to force integration, erase parts, or tell someone who they 'should' be.

My role is to partner and walk beside them with curiosity, compassion, and respect as they reconnect with themselves at their own pace.

Humans are astonishing. Healing is astonishing.

Every day, my clients remind me that even in the face of profound suffering, the human spirit finds ways to protect itself, adapt, and eventually, when the conditions are right- when it's safe enough- we heal.

I leave my office feeling deeply grateful and continually in awe of the people who trust me with their stories.

May we continue to replace stigma with understanding, fear with compassion, and judgment with curiosity.

Spending time in reflection is never a waste.

It is in these quiet moments of meeting the Self that we discover who we were before the world told us who we "should" be.

Our goals, dreams, desires and areas needing growth make themselves known. In stillness, we discover parts of the Self who have been waiting- with longing and wisdom.

When was the last time you spent quality time with yourself?
When was the last time you told yourself something you needed to hear?
When was the last time you consulted your Self for advice about a problem?

YOU are your greatest asset.
YOU are the expert in your life.
