So, what exactly is PPT4ed? 📚

PPT4ed was created to help pediatric knowledge reach beyond the therapy room.

Through education, training, and resources, our mission is to empower the caregivers, educators, professionals, and communities who play an important role in a child’s development.

From providing families with practical tools they can use at home to helping educators and pediatric professionals grow their knowledge, PPT4ed is working to make pediatric education more accessible and impactful.

And this fall, we’re excited to show you even more of what that mission looks like. 💙

As we count down to GivingTuesday on December 1, we’ll be sharing the different ways your support can help education reach farther.

Because when we educate the people surrounding a child, the impact can extend far beyond one moment.

Connection before correction.

For Regina, Childhood Apraxia of Speech is both professional and personal. She’s a pediatric SLP who specializes in motor-based speech disorders and she’s also a mom of a child with CAS.

Her reminder to parents is an important one: apraxia may make speaking more difficult, but it does not take away a child’s thoughts, personality, ideas, or desire to connect.

Your child’s ability to communicate matters more than how perfectly they can say a word.

🎙️ Hear Regina share her perspective as both an SLP and a mom in When Words Won’t Come Out: Understanding Childhood Apraxia of Speech” on Beyond the Caseload.

Did you know motor skills can sometimes be overlooked in children with autism?

New 2026 research looked at how structured physical exercise may support skills like balance, running, jumping, throwing, and catching in autistic children and the findings are worth knowing about for parents and caregivers.

We broke down the research in an easy-to-understand way, including what the study found, what “structured exercise” can actually look like, and what the research still can’t tell us.

“Cat.” Then “tat.” Then “at.” Then “ca.” 🗣️

One feature an SLP may consider when evaluating Childhood Apraxia of Speech is whether a child produces the same word differently across attempts.

But this is important: inconsistent speech alone does NOT mean a child has apraxia.

CAS can be complex to identify, which is why SLPs look at a much bigger picture including speech movements, transitions, vowels, prosody, consistency, response to cueing, and functional communication.

🎙️ Regina breaks down what families and clinicians should know about recognizing and evaluating CAS in our newest episode of Beyond the Caseload.

Your child may know exactly what they want to say but getting the words out can be the difficult part. 🧠🗣️

Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a motor-based speech disorder that affects the planning and programming of the movements needed for speech.

In other words, the message may be there. The challenge can be getting the brain and mouth to consistently coordinate the movements needed to say it.

🎙️ In our newest episode of Beyond the Caseload, pediatric SLP Regina breaks down Childhood Apraxia of Speech from both a clinical perspective and her personal experience as a mom of a child with CAS.

Did you know ARFID is very different from typical picky eating?

Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) isn’t driven by concerns about weight or body image. For some children, eating challenges may be connected to strong sensory sensitivities, a lack of interest in food, or fear of something negative happening while eating, such as choking or vomiting.

A recent 2026 review of 22 studies looked more closely at how ARFID differs from other eating disorders and why understanding those differences matters when supporting children with feeding challenges.

We recently broke down the research in parent-friendly language on the Progressive Pediatric Therapy blog!

If you’re interested in more child development and pediatric therapy information like this, follow Progressive Pediatric Therapy here on Facebook and on Instagram.

A 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis of 22 studies finds ARFID has a distinct clinical profile from anorexia and bulimia in children and teens. Progressive Pediatric Therapy explains what it means for feeding therapy in Palm Beach County. Schedule an evaluation today.
