In children, anxiety does not always sound like “I’m worried.” Sometimes it looks like:
• Frequent stomachaches or headaches
• Irritability or anger
• Trouble falling or staying asleep
• Avoiding school, friends or activities
These symptoms can have many causes, so listen with curiosity; not assumptions. If they are persistent, getting worse or interfering with school, home or play, your child’s pediatrician can help rule out physical concerns and talk through next steps.
You don’t have to wait for a crisis to ask for support. 💛
