Community Partners and First Responders,
We’re pleased to share an important new community safety resource located at our day program facilities in Jasper and Tell City.
As a nonprofit organization committed to supporting the safety and well-being of individuals with disabilities and their families and communities, we now have an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) onsite and available as a resource for first responders during an emergency. An additional AED is available at our new location in Dale which will provide day programming early next year!
These AEDs were purchased through grant funding from the allowing us to strengthen our emergency preparedness and training, and contribute an additional resource to our broader community.
Emergency situations may occur before first responders can arrive on site, particularly in rural areas where response times can be extended. Through grant funding from the Dubois County Community Foundation, we are able to build a better-prepared support system that promotes health and quality of life for individuals with disabilities while strengthening emergency readiness throughout the rural communities we serve.
Combined with expanded CPR and First Aid training resources, these investments will improve staff readiness, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and increase the likelihood of positive outcomes when emergencies occur.
We’re excited about what this means for increased collaboration with our community partners and local first responders. By making one another aware of available resources, we can work together to create a safer, more prepared community for everyone.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for all you do to promote safety, inclusion, and support throughout our community!
👉. Please feel free to share this information with local first responders who may benefit from knowing about the AED’s availability at our locations!
