Earlier this month, the Worcester Service Warriors had a great day of learning and action at their Resume Building and Public Speaking Leadership Development Day. Warriors spent the morning learning about resumes and then got to work creating or updating their resumes. By the end of the day, every Warrior had a full and complete resume.

In the afternoon, Warriors learned about public speaking and the role it can play in their leadership. Whether in leading a small team of volunteers or giving a speech to a packed house, public speaking plays a role in our leadership at EPIC. After learning the skills, they put them into action by creating and executing a speech. It was an EPIC day had by all!

Yesterday, the Worcester Service Warriors and EPIC staff had an awesome day celebrating Disability Pride Month and ADA Day on the Worcester Common with Out to Lunch Festival & Farmers' Market, City of Worcester, downtownworcester, and Disability Orgs from around Central MA.

In addition to hosting an info table about EPIC, the Service Warriors also completed a project exploring what Disability Pride means to the Worcester Disability Community. Warriors went around the event talking with attendees and organizations, asking everyone to write down what Disability Pride means to them. Then each response was hung on a large standing banner painted in the colors of the disability pride flag. It was a great day of connecting with others and sharing our pride for this EPIC community!

Today, EPIC had the opportunity to celebrate the **Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)** alongside the City of Boston’s Disabilities Commission and the disability community.

It was an incredible day of connection, celebration, and community. We had the chance to share EPIC’s mission, meet new organizations and advocates, reconnect with familiar faces, including several of our amazing Service Warrior alumni, and celebrate the progress made toward a more inclusive future.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, shared their stories, and continues to champion accessibility and inclusion. Together, we are building stronger, more connected communities where everyone belongs.

It is the LAST DAY of the EPIC 20in20 Fundraiser, and tonight is our Honoring Young Leaders Boston Event! It is a big day, and in honor of this day, we want you to meet the incoming 2027 Boston Service Warrior Team!

This team of 15 young leaders with disabilities will be zipping up their EPIC jackets tonight for the first time as they begin their year of service. Over the next year, these young leaders will each complete a minimum of 110 hours of community service, will lead others in days of service, will learn about advocacy, political literacy, career readiness, disability history, and so much more. These young leaders have answered our call to serve their community, and we hope you will answer their call for support.

Today is the last day to donate to the EPIC 20in20, where every dollar raised supports the 2027 teams of Service Warriors in Boston and Worcester. Please show your support by donating today. Learn more and donate at https://www.epicleaders.org/epic20in20

It is day 19 of the EPIC 20in20 Fundraiser, and we want you to meet Will, 2026 Boston Service Warrior. Will is also our Honoring Young Leaders Boston Graduation Speaker tomorrow night!

“As a Service Warrior, I learned how to be a good leader. I enjoyed our volunteer opportunities. I learned a lot about self-advocacy and standing up for myself for what I need. I also learned a lot about resume writing and how best to present myself for a job.”

Learning leadership, self-advocacy, and career readiness are all skills we strive for every Service Warrior to gain. We have just one day left to our EPIC 20in20 Fundraiser, and we need your help to support the incoming 2027 Service Warriors in Boston and Worcester. Your $20 donation today will go directly to supporting these young leaders. Learn more and donate at https://www.epicleaders.org/epic20in20

Today serves as a reminder that freedom, equity, and justice require ongoing action.

At EPIC, we know that disability justice and racial justice are deeply connected. Many young people navigate multiple identities and experience barriers that cannot be addressed by focusing on disability alone. Building a more inclusive world means listening to and elevating the voices of those most impacted by inequity.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, we recommit ourselves to developing the next generation of leaders with disabilities, creating opportunities for civic engagement, and working toward communities where everyone can thrive.

For day 18 of the EPIC 20in20 Fundraiser, we are excited for you to meet Brandon, 2026 Worcester Service Warrior and 2027 Service Leader.

“I find being a Service Warrior interesting. I get to help people. I learned a lot. I learned about the history of the disability community, that I can make friends with people who have disabilities like me, and the many ways I can help my community. I am excited to show the new Warriors the ropes of EPIC as a Service Leader.”

The 2027 Worcester Warriors are in good hands with Brandon helping to lead the way. There are just two days left to our EPIC 20in20 Fundraiser, and we need your help to support the incoming Warriors. Every dollar donated goes directly to these young leaders with disabilities. Learn more and donate at https://www.epicleaders.org/epic20in20
