Pelvic health is having a moment…let’s keep it going!

Recently, Anne Hathaway told Fandango she wants to write the “bible” of pelvic floor health. “There’s so much information that wasn’t available to me as a young woman,” she said. “As I’ve aged and discovered it, my life has improved, my energy has improved, my strength has improved.”

That’s the whole thing, isn’t it? Not that something was wrong, but that something was available, and no one mentioned it!

So here’s our ask: forward our this post to someone you love: a sister, a friend, your dad, your college roommate. Pelvic health still travels mostly by word of mouth, and one shared post could mean someone finally learns there’s help for the thing they’ve been quietly putting up with.

And if that someone is you, we’d love to meet you! Reach out to us today.

When it comes to pelvic health, both physical therapists (PTs) and occupational therapists (OTs) are here to guide your healing.

Both have advanced training in the pelvic floor. Both use hands-on care, movement, and daily-life strategies to help you feel more at home in your body.

The only difference? Sometimes the lens:

PTs may look more closely at strength, movement, and coordination.
OTs may look more closely at how symptoms show up in daily life and routines.

But here’s the most important part: your care will feel the same. Compassionate. Personalized. Rooted in helping you heal fully- so you can live with confidence, comfort, and ease.

At Wellest Pelvic Health, we believe it’s not about the letters after the name, it’s about having the right support by your side.

If you’re struggling with symptoms, we’re here to help. We’re always happy to chat and answer any of your questions!

At Wellest Pelvic Health, we offer both in-person and virtual care because we know that every body - and every season of life - looks different.

In-person care is the gold standard for pelvic floor therapy. It allows us to assess your body head to toe, use hands-on techniques, and create a truly individualized plan.

Virtual care can be a great option too, especially when access or timing is a barrier. We can support you with education, guided movement, and troubleshooting from home.

Both have a place in pelvic health care and we’ll help you find the right fit for your needs.

At Wellest Pelvic Health, we believe that everybody deserves individualized, comprehensive care. Read the full blog post (see our link in bio!) or give us a call to get started on your pelvic health journey.

Hysterectomy recovery is not one-size fits all.

Even when your incision is healing well, your body may still be adjusting to changes from surgery. It’s common for recovery to involve changes in how you move, breathe, brace, relax your muscles, and respond to everyday activities.

One important part of recovery is learning how to gradually increase activity without doing too much too soon.

Your pelvic floor therapist can help you understand how your body is responding to movement and provide guidance as you progress through different stages of recovery.

Your therapist may also help you reconnect with your core and pelvic floor, improve mobility around areas affected by surgery, and build confidence with movements that initially feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar.

And recovery isn’t just about getting back to your routine - it’s about feeling comfortable and confident in your body again. If something doesn’t feel right during your recovery, you don’t have to simply push through it. Support is available. At Wellest Pelvic Health, we take the time to understand where you are in your recovery and create a plan that meets you there. Reach out to our team to learn more.

Preparing for a hysterectomy? Your pelvic floor deserves to be part of the conversation.

While physical therapy is often incorporated into the preparation and recovery process for orthopedic surgeries, pelvic surgeries do not always receive the same access to supportive care.

Pelvic floor therapy before surgery provides an opportunity to assess how your muscles are functioning and identify areas of tension, weakness, or impaired coordination that may benefit from treatment.

From there, your therapist can create a personalized plan to help you prepare for surgery and build a strong foundation for rehabilitation and recovery afterward. Pelvic floor therapy should be individualized to your needs and surgical plan. Talk with your healthcare team about what is appropriate for you.

If you have an upcoming hysterectomy, pelvic floor therapy may be a valuable part of your preparation. Reach out to learn more or schedule an evaluation.

October is National Physical Therapy Month - something worth celebrating all month long!

The work of a physical therapist is deeply meaningful - especially our pelvic floor therapists, who walk alongside patients in some of the most tender and transformative parts of their healing journey.

We honor our team at Wellest Pelvic Health and ALL physical therapists this month (and all year long). Your care restores movement, presence, and wholeness. Thank you for all you do!

If you’ve wondered whether pelvic floor therapy could support you, we’d love to have that conversation with you. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

At Wellest, we believe in a collaborative approach: you bring your goals, questions, and feedback, and we guide your care with expertise, compassion, and support.

Some simple ways to make the most of your sessions:

→ Bring your objectives
→ Be honest about your comfort and limits
→ Ask questions and actively participate in your care
→ Stay consistent with your home exercises
→ Celebrate the small wins along the way

Every step matters, and we’re here to guide you through it.

09/29/2026

Babywearing can be such a helpful part of life with a little one, but your body shouldn’t have to “just deal with” pain, pressure, or leaking while you do it.

One thing to remember: you don’t need to brace your core or clench your pelvic floor the entire time you’re carrying your baby. Your goal is to find a comfortable position where you can breathe freely and let your body respond naturally to the added load. And if a carrier doesn’t feel good? That’s useful information - not a sign that you’re doing something wrong.

Your body is recovering, adapting, and getting stronger. There’s support available along the way. Reach out to us today!
