National Cancer Survivors Day® is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiration for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families, and an outreach to the community. Riverside Cancer Institute recognized the date last weekend with its annual Survivors Day luncheon celebration.

The afternoon featured food, fun, and fellowship and included inspiring words from Tanya Bowsher, nurse practitioner with Riverside Cancer Institute, and guest speaker Jared Carr.

For some families, cancer is more than a diagnosis. It's part of their story.

For Dr. Moore, experiences with breast cancer and prostate cancer in his own family inspired his path to oncology and shaped the way he cares for patients today. He believes every patient deserves not only expert treatment, but compassion, understanding, and the confidence to make informed decisions about their care.

Get to know Dr. Moore and the personal journey that continues to guide his work at Riverside Cancer Institute.

A few minutes today could make a difference tomorrow.

Melanoma can often be found by noticing changes in your skin. That’s why knowing the ABCDEs of melanoma is so important. Take a moment to learn the warning signs, check your skin, and share this information with someone you care about.

Many of us may not be too keen on taking an up-close-and-personal look at our own bodies, but there's a very good reason to do just that: It's one of the best ways to discover melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer. Though less common than other skin cancers, melanoma can spread to other part...

This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Their courage and sacrifice remind us of the strength of the human spirit and the importance of cherishing every moment with those we love.

Today, we remember them with deep gratitude and honor the families who carry their legacy forward.

Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer.

As you head outside to enjoy sunshine, cookouts, and time with the people you love, remember one of the simplest ways to help protect yourself from skin cancer: sunscreen.

It only takes a few moments to protect your skin, but the benefits can last for years.

Enjoy the weekend. Make memories. And take care of the skin you’re in.

One unexpected trip to the emergency room changed Patricia’s life in an instant.
What followed was not just treatment, but hope. A physician who brought calm. New options when others stopped working. And a care team that felt like family.

Read Patricia’s story and see how expert cancer care, advanced treatments, and compassionate support are helping our neighbors face cancer with strength and confidence.

A cancer diagnosis changes everything in an instant. One moment life is normal. The next, nothing is. For Patricia Huber, that moment came in the emergency room... when she went in thinking she might have a heart problem and left with news she never expected.
