📣🚑 Medical Center EMS has been awarded $310,070 from the Kentucky Department of Health to strengthen its Community Paramedic Program and expand access to at-home healthcare services throughout the region.

👉 The funding was awarded through Kentucky’s Rural Health Transformation Plan, which supports the establishment or advancement of Community Paramedicine across the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This grant will enhance Medical Center EMS’s ability to improve access to care, reduce preventable hospital readmissions, and decrease unnecessary emergency department visits.

Many women think the signs of a heart attack 💔 are unmistakable, but that may not be the case for everyone. Many signs are not obvious and might be confusing, leading women to think their heart attack is acid reflux, the flu or normal aging.

The best way to know if what you're experiencing is a heart attack is to be seen by a medical professional. If you have any of these signs, call 911, and get to a hospital 🚨 right away.

Not all heart attacks start with sudden chest pain. Symptoms can come on slowly or be mild, and they can vary among people — especially between men and women. Some heart attacks are "silent," with no symptoms at all. Stay aware and get checked if you're concerned.

Know the signs of cardiac arrest. It is likely that a person is having a cardiac arrest if they:
🧎Collapse suddenly and lose consciousness (pass out)
😮‍💨Stop breathing, don’t breathe effectively, or start gasping for air
🗣️Do not respond to shouting or tapping.
❤️Do not have a pulse. It’s hard to find a pulse, so you do not need to spend time trying to check it. Instead, call 9-1-1, start CPR, and get an AED.
