☀️ HEAT ADVISORY ALERT ☀️
With temperatures rising, we want to make sure everyone in our community stays safe, cool, and comfortable! Senior adults are more sensitive to extreme heat, so please keep these important tips in mind over the next few days:
💧 Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty. Avoid excessive caffeine or sugary drinks.
🏢 Stay in the A/C: Keep your apartment cool by closing blinds during the peak sun hours. Remember, our community common areas and dining rooms are fully air-conditioned and a great place to relax, read, or visit with friends!
👕 Dress Light: Wear loose-fitting, lightweight, and light-colored clothing.
🛑 Take it Easy: Limit strenuous physical activity, especially during the hottest parts of the day (10 AM - 4 PM).
👀 Watch for Signs: Keep an eye out for symptoms of heat exhaustion, such as dizziness, headache, nausea, or heavy sweating. If you or a neighbor feel unwell, please notify a staff member immediately.
Let’s look out for one another and stay cool! If you need any assistance or an extra pitcher of ice water, don't hesitate to reach out to the front desk. 🧊💙
