The Bridge to Recovery

The Bridge to Recovery We are a transformational residential program that specializes in healing individuals from the core.

Our approach is two-fold and helps clients simultaneously work on their issues from the outside in and the inside out. From the outside, clients will address their current addictions and other compulsive behavior patterns. These are addressed through abstinence, participation in 12-Step communities and doing step work. At the same time, clients will work from the inside out to effectively address

their historical issues and the pain and shame associated with them. This work is done through a variety of evidence based experiential therapeutic modalities including group therapy, equine assisted therapy, psychodrama, personal narrative work and inner child affective therapy.

Are you tired of seeing today's interactions through yesterday's experiences? Emotional trauma can leave us in a state of hypervigilance. Even after the danger has passed, our nervous system remains on high alert. Through processing trauma and working on emotional regulation we can begin to find peace and security.

Sometimes people are surprised to learn that, tucked away in the woods of Kentucky, lives have been changed by people who have traveled here from across the country, and even around the world.

Distance has never limited the reach of healing or the relationships we’ve been fortunate to build. We love connecting with professionals who share our passion for helping people find lasting recovery and genuine healing.

We were grateful to spend the evening in California with our friends Kurt Garbe with Visions Malibu and Roxanne Bates with Brass Tacks, continuing a relationship built on a shared commitment to serving others. Conversations like these remind us that while our home is in Kentucky, our mission reaches far beyond our front gate.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in the work we do and helps connect people to The Bridge to Recovery. We can’t wait to see where the next conversation takes us.

Hypervigilance isn’t "being too sensitive. " It's a nervous system that learned to stay on high alert because it once had to. Through processing the trauma behind the hypervigilance we can begin to allow our bodies to experience safety and reframe present situations based on truth, not perception.

It can be difficult to trust if we have experienced betrayal or trauma from past relationships. If we have a system adapted to keep us safe then we are more hypervigilant in our interactions. By slowly and consistently allowing people to show up authentically and safely they can begin to regain trust.

The Bridge to Recovery is looking for a passionate, licensed Full-Time Therapist to join our mission. If you thrive in trauma-focused, experiential modalities and excel at group facilitation, we want to hear from you.

We believe in creating a space where people can safely reconnect with their authentic selves and we need a therapist who brings empathy, authenticity, and strong communication to that journey every day.
