Through Vermont EMS Academy, Rescue’s education facility, we strive to provide learning opportunities that extend beyond future EMS providers - and Andrew, a Brattleboro Union High School student, is a perfect example.

During his time here, we got to know him well and watched him grow more confident, more independent, and find his rhythm in a busy station environment. Today, he has taken the next big step - graduating and moving forward with job placement! Andrew, we are proud of you. Thank you for showing up, working hard, and being a part of our team.

The Joseph P. Thompson Memorial Scholarship, awarded by the Rescue Inc. Board of Trustees, honors the legacy of Lieutenant Joe Thompson and represents Rescue Inc.’s commitment to supporting the educational goals of our extended Rescue family and future community leaders.

The scholarships were presented during Rescue Inc.’s annual Prince Spaghetti Night fundraiser and scholarship award evening. Members of the Thompson family were present for the award presentations, including Joe’s son, Greg Thompson, who is pictured presenting awards to recipients.

Happy National EMS Week!

National EMS Week recognizes the dedication that EMS personnel around the country put in each year! This year- during the week of 5/17-5/23, we celebrate our personnel who go above and beyond every year serving our community!

This year’s theme is “Improving Outcomes, Together”. Our organization works to improve the outcomes of patients each day through our role-model Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program (in partnership with Brattleboro Memorial Hospital)! This program directly reflects improving outcomes by visiting and caring for patients in their homes and preventing unnecessary hospital stays, working as a collaborative effort between BMH, Rescue Inc, and our patients.
