Northeast LMSA

Northeast LMSA LMSA-Northeast is a 501(c)(3) student-run organization representing medical and allied health students from the Northeast region of the United States.

The Latino Medical Student Association-Northeast (LMSA-NE), formerly known as the National Boricua Latino Health Organization (NBLHO), is a Latino student group representing health professions students from the northeast region of the United States. Its mission is to recruit Latinos into higher education, educate the public and one another about Latino health issues, advocate for increased Latino

representation in health related areas, and promote awareness about social, political and economic issues as they relate to Latino health. It also serves to create a support network for Latino students.

🏆MAY CHAPTER OF THE MONTH 🏆

Congratulations to SUNY Upstate Medical University LMSA for earning this month’s spotlight! 💙🤍

From partnering with La Casita to host monthly lunch and learns centered on health equity and advocacy, to launching the LMSA Caminos Mentorship Program with 26 mentees and 14 mentors, SUNY Upstate LMSA continues to create meaningful spaces for mentorship, education, and comunidad.

Their impact doesn’t stop there. Through Spanish Word Mondays, volunteering at the Poverello Clinic, attending the LMSA Northeast Regional Conference, and collaborating with the Latino Law Student Association on an immigration, health, and equity workshop, this chapter has shown what it means to lead with service and purpose.

We are so proud to celebrate their dedication to uplifting Latino medical students, pre-med students, and the communities they serve. Keep inspiring, keep advocating, and keep building bridges. 🌟

Congratulations to LMSA at University of Vermont SOM for earning this month’s spotlight! ✨

From growing into a full e-board, to hosting meaningful events like Latino Trivia Night, an Introductory Medical Spanish session, and an NMDP registration event, LMSA at UVM has shown incredible dedication to service, mentorship, and comunidad.

Their chapter continues to uplift the Latino community through volunteering, regional connection-building across Vermont and Connecticut, and a strong commitment to supporting immigrant populations in Vermont.

LMSA Northeast is looking for pre-medical and medical students to join our committees for the 54th Annual LMSA-Northeast Regional Conference hosted by Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT! 🩺✨

📍 Conference Dates: March 5–7, 2027
🏫 Host Institution: Yale School of Medicine
⏰ Application Deadline: June 12, 2026 at 11:59 PM

This is a great opportunity to gain leadership experience, work closely with the LMSA-NE Regional Executive Board, build your CV/resume, and help bring an impactful regional conference to life. 💙💛

This is your chance as a pre-med/pre-health student to step into a regional leadership role and make a real impact across LMSA-NE ✨

We are selecting:
🔹 LMSA+ Development Chair – focused on expanding and supporting LMSA+ chapters across the Northeast
🔹 LMSA+ Programming Chair – leading events, mentorship, and pre-med programming for our community

In these roles, you’ll:
• Help grow and strengthen LMSA+ chapters
• Create meaningful programming and mentorship opportunities
• Collaborate with regional leaders and conference teams
• Play a key role in shaping the pre-med experience within LMSA 💛

The 2027 LMSA-Northeast Regional Conference is coming to Yale University School of Medicine, and we’re looking for passionate, driven leaders to step into the role of Conference Co-Chair 🎤✨

This is your chance to:
• Lead the vision and ex*****on of a regional conference
• Join the LMSA-NE Regional Executive Board
• Collaborate with an incredible team to create meaningful impact across our community
