Please join us in congratulating Jason Johnson, DO, who has been named Chief Medical Officer of Intermountain Health St. James Hospital.

A trusted physician leader, Dr. Johnson currently serves as Trauma Medical Director and as part of our General Surgery team. Since joining St. James in March 2024, he has earned respect for his collaborative approach, commitment to quality and safety, and dedication to bringing caregivers together to improve patient care.

When Cara Whitlock’s daughter, Libbi, suddenly became very sick, everything changed in an instant. Fear, uncertainty and the weight of unexpected medical costs all collided at once.

Thanks to the Patient Compassion Fund, Cara and her family were able to focus on what mattered most, Libbi’s care, without worrying about the financial strain that often comes with a medical crisis. Today, Libbi is thriving, and her story is a powerful reminder of what compassion can do.

The Patient Compassion Fund was the heart of last weekend’s Spirit Gala '26: The Beach Ball, and stories like Cara’s show the real impact of generosity in action.
