John Nicholas Green

John Nicholas Green, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026. He was born on March 5, 1945, in Barberton, Ohio, to Betty Blosser and Bert Green.

John owned and operated Family Tire for more than 25 years before retiring. He also founded and operated Secret Santa in Ohio, dedicating himself to ensuring that every child received a Christmas gift. In recognition of his generosity and service to his community, he was honored as Citizen of the Year in Cambridge, Ohio. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horse racing, but above all, he loved his family and treasured the time he spent with them and his many friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn “Vonnie” Sprague Green; his children, John Green Jr. (Sara), Randy Green (Carla), and Kim Haggard; his grandchildren, Joey, Leah, John “Jack”, Timmy, Jeffery, Heather, his great-grandchildren, Maverick and Gentry; his sister, Betty Tallman; his brother, John McFarlin (Denice), his nieces, Lori Troutman (Preston), their children, Taylor, Katie and John; Teri Sarver (Troy) and their children Tyler and Carly; and Cindee Cobb (Jay); nephews, Glenn Delong and Corey Green.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Denny Green; his brothers, Daniel Green and Anthony “Fred” Green; his sister, Patricia McFarlin; and his nephew, Johnny McFarlin.

Alice Jane Miller

Alice Jane (Fife) Miller, 93, of North Salem passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at her home, where she had been lovingly cared for by her family for the past eight years.

Alice was born on March 18, 1933 in Cambridge to the late Charles Hogue and Agnes Wright (Blair) Fife. Alice worked for many years in area factories and later became a nursing assistant at Bell Nursing Home where she cared for so many residents. After her retirement, she continued to do private in home care until the age of 80. Her work ethic and dedication to her work was truly unmatched.

Alice was a longtime and devoted member of the North Salem community church. She will long be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, praising her savior in song, with hymns she had memorized, rarely using a song book.

Alice was a member of the Moose Lodge, holding each of the offices.

Alice devoted her life to her family, caring for them was her true life’s mission and she loved spending time with each one of them and enjoyed big family gatherings.

Alice also enjoyed traveling, dancing, singing, sitting on her front porch, crocheting, and cross word puzzles.

Alice had a quiet but powerful strength about her, leading her life by her example over her words. She made taking care of others look easy, because it was a true gift from God.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Miller, whom she married on May 15, 1951. Her daughter, Alice Hill. Her son, John Miller. Her sons in law Bruce Archer and Junior Hill. Her Grandchildren, Gibby Durben, Ricky Hill, and Teresa Burris Spires. Her brother, Dan Fife, and two infant brothers. Sisters, Agnes Baker and Mary Gravens.

Alice is survived by her sister Rose Stackhouse. Seven of her nine children, Agnes (Gib) Durben, Robert Miller, Mary (Charles) Burris, June (Tim) Johnson, Dan (Debbie) Miller, Tammy (Doug Law) Archer, and Beth (Jody) Dye. Her Daughter in law Sherri Miller, 26 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, 80 great great grandchildren. And several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 4pm to 7pm and on Friday, July 24 from 11am to 1pm with her service to begin at 1pm. Pastor Bruce Colvin will officiate with burial to follow in North Salem Community Cemetery. The family would like to thank Interim Hospice for the care they were given.

Alecia "Penny" A. Williams

Alecia A. "Penny" Williams, age 64 of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026 at Ohiohealth Southeastern Medical Center. She was born in Elkins, West Virginia on October 23, 1961, a daughter of the late Bernard James Williams and Cora Ann (Jenkins) Mullinax.

Penny had grew up in West Virginia and spent some time living back and forth in Florida before making Cambridge her home. She had worked as a clerk at Fuel Stop and spent several years as a truck driver. Penny had a fondness for rescuing and fostering cats. She called her home an unofficial sanctuary for cats.

She leaves behind some distant family members and a friend Michael Richardson.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She was an organ and tissue doner and would have been proud to have known that she is continuing to help others, even after her death. In keeping with Penny's wishes, she would be happy to see you make memorial donations to a cat rescue facility.

Patricia L. Kuhn

Patricia L. Kuhn, 93, of Cambridge, passed away Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home. Born November 17, 1932, in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Russell Cooper and Sara F. (Knox) Cooper.

Pat was a graduate of Brown High School and completed additional coursework at Muskingum College. She worked for many years as the bookkeeper at Kuhn’s Jewelers. A devoted homemaker, she took great pride in caring for her home and especially loved gardening and baking. Her family fondly remembers her as the maker of the best apple pies anywhere. She also enjoyed decorating with her collection of gifted gnomes, each one holding a special place in her home.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert S. “Bob” Kuhn, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage until his passing in 2017; her brother, William Cooper; and her son, Chris Kuhn.

She is survived by her children: Robert (Carolyn) Kuhn, Kathryn (Dave) Pontius, and Judy (Fred) Steele; daughter-in-law Cheryl Kuhn; her grandchildren: Jessica (Dan) Nicewarner, Tanya (Brian) Bradley, Adam (Tess) Archer, Seth (Stephanie) Archer, Aaron (Staci) Knouff, Aimee Knouff, Mary (Adam) Hardwick and Nathanael Steele; seven great‑grandchildren: Avery (Marquis) Wilkin, Kelsey (Camerone) Crowley, J.D. Knouff, Hailey Knouff, Adeline Nicewarner, Oliver Nicewarner, and Mason Salley; one great‑great‑grandson, Zen Johnson; and many wonderful caregivers whose love and kindness meant so much.

Jackson Brady Kirkbride
September 9, 2011 – April 27, 2021

It is with hearts that still ache that we remember our beloved Jack Russell Terrier, Jackson Brady Kirkbride, who was born on September 9, 2011, and unexpectedly crossed the Rainbow Bridge on April 27, 2021, following a brief and sudden illness.

For almost ten wonderful years, Jackson wasn’t just our dog—he was family. He was a son, a brother, a grandson, and a nephew…He filled our home with unconditional love, laughter, and countless unforgettable memories. His tiny paws left the biggest footprints on our hearts, and a sadness that even time can’t heal.

Jackson’s greatest joy in life was being with his people. He adored and loved his best friend and big brother, Brady, and loved every moment spent protecting his mom, Punkie, and mowing the yard with his dad, Michael. Whether he was going for a truck ride, playing fetch, heading out to the barn, or eagerly waiting for his favorite treats, Jackson found happiness in life’s simple moments.

He had a few strong opinions, too. He wasn’t particularly fond of the horses, groundhogs, birds, or bath time. Staying clean simply wasn’t part of his regular plan!! But offer him a bowl of “creamy creamy” (ice cream) or a pizza bone, and you instantly became his favorite person.

Jackson taught us about loyalty, joy, and loving without conditions. He greeted each day with excitement and loved family members more than life.. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave will last forever..

Not a day goes by that he isn’t remembered. We still miss the sound of his paws, the excitement in his eyes, and the comfort of knowing he was always nearby.

Run free, our sweet boy. Chase every squirrel, bark at every bird, and enjoy all the pizza bones and creamy creamy your heart desires. Until we meet again, you will always be a cherished part of our family, and forever loved and missed beyond words.

Scott Lee Mitchell

Scott Lee Mitchell, 56, of New Philadelphia, formerly of Cambridge, passed away at 3:37 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Aultman Hospital in Canton. Born July 6, 1970 in Zanesville, he was the son of Doris Carolyn (Archer) Mitchell of Cambridge and the late David Charles Mitchell.

Scott was a 1988 graduate of Buckeye Trail High School. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and worked as an operations specialist serving during Desert Shield. He earned his associate degree from MATC before continuing his career with AEP. He was a former member of the Cambridge VFW, and he and his wife were leaders of the Grove of the Great Dragon based out of Columbus.

Scott loved music and attending concerts, and he cherished camping every summer with his family. He had a deep love for his dogs and all animals.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Karen Lea (Hayes) Mitchell, of the home; his children, Zachary (Karisha Del Rosario) Mitchell, Coty Mitchell, and Jamie Mitchell; and his brother, Joseph Mitchell. He also leaves behind his nephew and niece, Paul David Mitchell and Nicole Mitchell.

In addition to his father, Scott was preceded in death by a brother Detmer Mitchell.

Over the years, I’ve watched too many families grieve over the loss of a pet to not try and offer something like this. For many people, a pet may be the only thing keeping them going, and their daily lives revolve around that companionship. Yet pet loss rarely receives the same grief support that is shown after a human loss. I want to change that by offering families a place where their grief is acknowledged, respected, and supported. These are intended to basically be an obituary for your pet.

David R. McCulley

David R. McCulley, 85, of Cambridge, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Countryview Assisted Living Center in Lore City. Born in Cambridge on March 18, 1941, he was a son of the late Mary M. (Warren) Slack and Bill “Pappy”Slack.

David spent 30 years as an Inventory Controller with Centria, where he was known for his steady work ethic and commitment to his career. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church and the Cambridge Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Donna J. (Johnson) McCulley, whom he married on November 28, 2009. David was a devoted father and is survived by his children: Dale (Tami) McCulley of Cambridge, Jack (Dawn) McCulley of Cambridge, Bill McCulley & Dustin of Seneca, South Carolina, John (Becky Harney) Arnett of Cambridge, Don (April) Arnett of Cambridge, and Lisa (Kevin) Clipner of Byesville.

David was blessed with many grandchildren, including Troy (Brandi) McCulley, Drew McCulley, Christopher (Miranda DeLancey) McCulley, Cody McCulley, Sarah (Chris) Barnett, Trevor (Blake) Arnett, and great‑grandchildren, Owen, Dawson, Blake, Alexis, Payton, Averie, Mayzie and Paisley; a brother Paul McCulley of New Concord; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Patty Shimp, Tommy McCulley, Brenda Johnson and Jimmy McCulley.

Visitation will be at Bundy-Law Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 12pm to 2 pm with the service to begin at 2pm. Gary Michael Rominger

Gary Michael Rominger, age 63, of Lore City, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Born in Banner Elk, North Carolina, on May 15, 1963, he was the son of the late Roy Jones Rominger and Mary Alice Rominger.

Gary was a proud, self‑employed logger who found purpose in working outdoors and took great pride in his craft. He loved golfing, spending time in nature, and—more than anything—being “Poppa” to his grandsons.

He leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Glenna (Tetirick) Rominger; his daughter Jessica (Andrew) Garvin; and his beloved grandsons Izik Garvin and Atlas Garvin. He is also survived by his siblings Ron (Linda) Rominger, Larry Rominger, Nancy (Jerry) Wilkin, and Judy Hanson; his brother‑in‑law Mike Lawton; many nieces and nephews; and his best friend and golfing partner Brian Presnell.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Linda Jean Rominger and Donna Joyce Lawton; and his sister‑in‑law Julie Rominger.

Janice P. Cook

Janice P. Cook, age 84 formerly of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Amherst Meadows in Massillon. She was born on January 19, 1942 in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Clarence Dawson and Mildred (Hummel) Dawson.

Mrs. Cook was a 1959 graduate of Cambridge High School. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Concord Church of Christ. She enjoyed bowling, camping, and spending time with family (especially her great-grandchildren).

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Larry R. Cook; and an infant sister Linda K. Dawson.

She is survived by those who loved her: daughter Linda (Charles) Fort of Massillon; son Randy (Sarah) Cook of South Carolina; brother Jerry W. (Linda) Dawson; grandchildren Samantha Cook, Brieanna (Adam) Donato, Brittney (Shawn) Moses and Jessie (JD) Cassler; great-grandchildren Ava & Alivia Donato, Everly & Elliott Moses, and Cam & Ben Cassler, along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
