May is High Blood Pressure Awareness Month — a great reminder to know your numbers and take charge of your heart health.

High blood pressure often has no symptoms, but it can quietly increase your risk for heart disease and stroke. The good news? A quick blood pressure check can make all the difference.

We encourage our patients and community members to stop by the clinic to have your blood pressure checked and make sure you’re staying up to date with your annual wellness visits.

Knowing your numbers today can help protect your health for years to come. ❤️

This Month Tri Valley Health System is celebrating National Osteoporosis Awareness and Prevention Month.

Calcium and vitamin D help build and maintain strong bones. Calcium supports bone structure, while vitamin D helps your body absorb it. Together, they play an important role in bone health at every age. Simple habits like balanced meals and nutrient-rich foods can support your bones over time.

Tri Valley Health System offers DXA scans. A DXA scan, also called a bone density
scan, is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. DXA is today’s established standard for measuring bone mineral density. Bone density tests are a quick and painless procedure. Routine evaluations every two years may be needed to see a significant change in bone mineral density, decrease or increase. Few patients, such as patients on high dose steroid medication, may need follow-up at six months.

Small, consistent steps can make a real difference towards taking care of your mental health.
A short walk, a phone call with a friend, keeping a routine, or simply getting outside for fresh air can help support mood and build resilience over time.
And when those steps do not feel like enough, having extra support can help. You do not have to figure it out alone.
Tri Valley Health System's Senior Life Solutions provides support for older adults facing depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. If someone you know is struggling, reaching out can make a difference.
