🌟Resident Spotlight: Lucille Jones🌟

Lakeview Christian Home is proud to spotlight Lucille Jones, a woman whose life has been filled with faith, family, and service to others.

Lucille was born in Erie, Kansas, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She later attended college in Chanute before marrying her husband, who served in the United States Coast Guard for five years.

The young couple spent three years in Florida, where they welcomed their first son. They later returned to Kansas and had their second son before making the move to Carlsbad, where their daughter was born.

Family has always been at the center of Lucille’s life. She is the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren, with two more great-grandchildren on the way.

One of Lucille’s greatest passions was teaching Sunday school at First Methodist Church of Carlsbad, where she faithfully served for 55 years. She cherished the opportunity to share her faith and make a difference in the lives of so many children and families.

Today, Lucille enjoys spending time with her family and friends and cherishes the relationships she has built throughout her life. She says she loves Lakeview because the people are so kind and the food is delicious.

We are honored to have Lucille as part of the Lakeview family and celebrate the love, faith, and joy she brings to those around her. ❤️

Today, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at Lakeview Christian Home.

Our CNAs are the heart of resident care, providing compassionate support, comfort, and dignity to those we serve each and every day. Whether it’s assisting with daily activities, offering a listening ear, sharing a smile, or simply being there when needed most, their dedication makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and families.

The work of a CNA is not always easy, but it is invaluable. We are grateful for the kindness, patience, and commitment our CNAs bring to Lakeview every day.

🌟Employee Spotlight: Taylor Martinez – Social Services Assistant🌟

Taylor Martinez was born and raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and is a proud graduate of Carlsbad High School, Class of 2021. After high school, she chose to continue her education online while staying rooted in her hometown community.

In 2022, Taylor began working at Artesia Hospital, where she gained valuable experience registering ER patients and scheduling radiology appointments. Her role helped her develop strong communication and organizational skills while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Taylor joined Lakeview Christian Home in 2024 as a receptionist. Over the past couple of years, she has found real joy in connecting with residents who come to the front desk with their needs and concerns. These meaningful interactions sparked her interest in social work and inspired her to take the next step in her career. This summer, Taylor will begin pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Social Services.

What Taylor loves most about Lakeview is the residents and the positive work environment. She appreciates that her coworkers genuinely enjoy being there, which motivates her to bring that same energy and dedication to her role every day.

Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time with her dog, Benny—named after the song “Benny and the Jets.” She is also actively involved in her community as a dance and cheer instructor at Cheer and Tumble Athletics.

Taylor’s compassion, enthusiasm, and commitment to growth make her a valued part of the Lakeview team.

“Our Rebecca is a one in a million billion. What she does for us (we are like family) is endless. She is always soft spoken and kind even on the days she is having pain like the rest of us. When she is on duty, I always feel safe. More often than not, she is doing the responsibilities of her fellow CNA's. I've often told her that I believe she deserves the paycheck of at least 3 times what she is paid. Actually, she is priceless.
