Did you know that spending time near lakes, rivers, oceans, and other “blue spaces” is scientifically linked to improved mental and physical well-being? “Blue Mind” describes the calm, meditative state that being near water can inspire.

Michaela recently experienced this alongside the ocean on a trip to Florida — though she is grateful to live and work near Lake Michigan year round. 🌊

The lack of photos during our Anniversary Celebration speaks to the tremendous connection we had with one another. So grateful to family, friends, and colleagues who have supported this journey to create and grow Orenda. And my gratitude extends to the Orenda team who truly embodies our values-empowerment, strength, authenticity, and connection. As a small business owner, I am honored to have strong clinicians who I can trust to care for all clients who walk through our doors. Finally, our clients, who trust us with their most vulnerable moments, who we have watched grow and change and become the version of themselves they wish to become, we are fortunate to be a part of your story.

Through the end of May we are collecting baby essentials at Orenda Counseling-donations can be brought to the waiting room and placed in the bin.

1 in 2 US families struggles to afford enough diapers. We are hosting a Baby Bank Drive to support local families in Ozaukee County!

Clean diapers aren’t covered by public assistance and that leaves too many families without the essentials.

New to the ED field or recovery journey? Claire gives her review of a classic! 🤍

‘Life Without Ed’ is one of my go-to recommendations for those starting recovery. It’s validating, easy to connect with, and helps people recognize: you are not your eating disorder. This book is great as it helps untangle identity from the eating disorder and creates space for self-compassion, which is something so many people struggle with when they first walk into therapy. This book makes for a strong foundation for recovery.
If you’re in recovery, at any place in your journey, or supporting someone who is, this one is worth the read.
