COPD is just one part of the conversation.

This month, Oasis Rehab & Nursing’s COPD Support Group welcomed pulmonologist and critical care specialist Dr. Rajeev Patel alongside our Director of Cardiopulmonary Programs, Chris Raeihle, for an informative discussion on lung health, including COPD, lung nodules, lung cancer awareness, and what providers look for on chest imaging. Dr. Patel specializes in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine and serves patients within the Northwell Health system.

Our monthly support group is designed to provide education, resources, expert guidance, and a supportive community for individuals living with COPD and other respiratory conditions. Whether you’re managing a diagnosis yourself or supporting a loved one, these conversations empower patients to better understand their health and ask the questions that matter.

From spreading the sauce to piling on the toppings, our facility was filled with laughter AND the best smells imaginable.

Activities like these are about more than just a meal: they spark creativity, encourage social connection, and keep fine motor skills sharp.
