Please welcome Lauren to the Red Wagon Team! Lauren grew up in Cornelius, North Carolina, enjoying life on Lake Norman before earning her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Appalachian State University. During her time at Appalachian, she developed a love for the mountains while gaining valuable experience working with children through a variety of jobs and volunteer opportunities.

Lauren is passionate about early childhood development and is dedicated to helping young children learn, grow, and reach important developmental milestones. Her experience includes working in camps, preschools, and kindergarten classrooms, where she discovered the power of play-based learning and creative activities such as art to support children's development. Her long-term goal is to become a child therapist, and she is excited to be part of the early intervention journey with children and their families.

When she's not working, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors, especially rock climbing, hiking, and running. She also loves attending concerts, creating and appreciating art, reading, and making memories with family and friends.

Please join us in welcoming our newest Developmental Play Therapist, Leya, to the Red Wagon Children's Therapy family!

Leya brings more than 10 years of experience working with children with disabilities and developmental delays and has a true passion for helping children and families reach their goals.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Leya earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Cardinal Stritch University, along with a certificate in Diversity Studies. Before joining Red Wagon, she worked as a Registered Behavior Technician providing ABA therapy and later as a Service Coordinator and Early Interventionist in the Birth-to-Three program. She has also spent time tutoring, coaching, and mentoring children in her community.

Leya is trauma-informed and has experience working with children and families from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. She believes that every step forward matters and celebrates all progress, no matter how big or small.

Leya will be serving families in the Shelby and western Mecklenburg County areas, and we're excited for the positive impact she'll have in those communities.

When she's not working, Leya enjoys music, volunteering, bowling, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and staying involved in her community.

We're thrilled to have Leya on our team and can't wait for the wonderful difference she'll make in the lives of the children and families we serve.

💙 Welcome to Red Wagon Children's Therapy, Leya! We are so happy you're here!

We have another graduate at Red Wagon this week! As Austin prepares to start the next chapter I would like to share a message from his awesome therapist, Lynn:

As Austin graduates from developmental play therapy and turns 3, I find myself feeling both incredibly proud and a little emotional. It has been such a privilege to watch him grow, learn and blossom over this past season. His sweet personality, determination, and joyful spirit have made every visit something I looked forward to. While this chapter is coming to an end, I know he has a wonderful future ahead of him.

To Austins family- thank you for welcoming me into your home and trusting me with such an important part of your son's journey. What began as a professional relationship has grown into something much more, and you have become like family to me. I will always treasure the memories we've made together and the special place Austin will hold in my heart. I am so grateful our paths crossed, and I can't wait to see all the amazing things he accomplishes in the years to come. Wishing your beautiful family continued joy, love and countless blessings.

Congratulations to our sweet December on graduating from Early Intervention!

December has come so far, and it has been such a joy to watch her grow. She was Lynn's very first therapy kiddo, making this graduation extra special.

Over the past months, with Lynn's support, December has blossomed into a bright, spunky, and wonderfully sassy little girl who is finding her voice and using it to communicate with confidence. Whether she was caring for baby dolls, playing veterinarian to her stuffed pets, hosting a tea party, or talking about her beloved cows, she always brought smiles and laughter to our sessions.

One of her favorite phrases these days is, "What is that?" as she explores the world around her with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Lynn has loved getting to know not only December, but also the family members who have been part of her journey. It truly takes a village, and the love and support surrounding this little girl have been evident every step of the way.

Lynn will miss seeing December waiting at the door on Tuesday mornings, ready for another adventure together. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and can't wait to see all the amazing things she will do next.

Congratulations, December! Keep shining, sweet girl!
