Black mothers deserve more than survival. They deserve to be celebrated, supported, and cared for in a way that honors the fullness of their experience — the joy, the complexity, the beauty, and yes, the very real challenges too.
The disparities in Black maternal health care are documented and urgent. Higher rates of mortality. Higher rates of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Lower rates of support. These are not statistics we share to frighten — they are the reality that drives our work.
Prioritizing Black maternal mental health is not about exclusion. It is about stepping into a gap that has existed for too long and creating space for women who deserve to be seen, heard, and cared for without having to fight for it.
We are not just here for the hard moments. We are here for all of it.
