The Wyoming Healthcare Classic is more than a golf tournament—it's a community coming together to invest in healthcare across our state.

Today, we'd like to recognize three incredible organizations whose partnership is helping make this event possible.

An AMA poll found that national voters are concerned about the influence that insurance companies have over patient treatment decisions.
Wyoming physicians have already made meaningful progress in pushing back against the bureaucratic red tape of healthcare.

With WMS leading the advocacy efforts, Wyoming passed prior authorization legislation to help keep medical decision-making where it belongs: between a patient and their physician.

WMS will continue working to protect that relationship and ensure patients can get the care they need and deserve — without unnecessary delays.

Patients and physicians agree: the bond physicians form with their patients is central to healthcare.

Yet growing bureaucracy is impacting physicians’ time spent with patients.

Wyoming Medical Society is advocating for physicians to spend more time with patients and develop that critical relationship that helps patients make their best healthcare decisions.

Over the past few weeks, I had the privilege of attending the Family Medicine Residency graduation celebrations in Cheyenne, Casper, and Thermopolis, and I can honestly say they were some of my favorite events of the year.

Watching these residents be recognized for years of hard work, sacrifice, and dedication was incredibly inspiring. Seeing their families, faculty, mentors, and colleagues celebrate such an important milestone reminds us all why investing in the next generation of physicians matters.

One of the highlights for me was sitting with members of the Wyoming Medical Society (WMS). I was reminded once again how fortunate Wyoming is to have organizations like WMS that continually advocate for physicians, support medical education, and work to strengthen healthcare across our state. Their commitment to advancing the medical profession and ensuring quality healthcare for Wyoming communities is something we should all appreciate.

I'm also incredibly grateful that Wyoming continues to invest in its Family Medicine Residency programs. Every resident who trains here gains firsthand experience caring for Wyoming communities, building relationships, and discovering what makes our state such a special place to live and practice medicine.

These residency programs are more than educational opportunities—they are one of the strongest workforce development tools we have. Many graduates choose to stay, practice, and raise their families here, helping improve healthcare access for generations to come.

To every graduate: congratulations! Your passion, resilience, and commitment to caring for others are truly inspiring. Wyoming is cheering you on, and we can't wait to see the impact you'll make.

Here's to the future of healthcare in Wyoming. 🦬❤️
