And while we're talking about taking care of yourself…
September is also Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Prostate cancer is common, and knowing your risk factors can help you have a more informed conversation with your healthcare provider.

Family history and age are important pieces of the conversation. Your healthcare provider can help determine whether screening is appropriate for you and when it should begin.

This month, we're making men's health conversations a little easier. 💙

🩵 Yesterday we asked you to wear teal. Today we're asking: did you know why?

Ovarian cancer awareness is about more than a color.

It's about recognizing symptoms that can be easy to dismiss, understanding your personal and family history, and knowing when it's worth having a conversation with your healthcare provider.

And here's an important distinction:
Pelvic ultrasound can help evaluate symptoms or findings involving the ovaries and pelvis, but it isn't a routine screening test proven to prevent ovarian cancer deaths.

Some symptoms to talk with your healthcare provider about include:
• Persistent bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Feeling full quickly
• Changes in urinary habits

Knowledge doesn't mean assuming the worst. It means knowing when to ask questions. 💙

🩵 WEAR TEAL DAY 🩵

Today is Wear Teal Day, a national observance during Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

Teal represents courage, strength and hope for people affected by ovarian cancer. 💙

Ovarian cancer can be difficult to recognize because symptoms may be vague and can look like many other conditions.

Some symptoms to talk with your healthcare provider about include:
• Persistent bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal pain
• Feeling full quickly
• Changes in urinary habits

There isn't currently a routine screening test proven to detect ovarian cancer early in people without symptoms. That's one reason awareness of symptoms and risk factors is so important.

Most bumps to the head don't require advanced imaging, but certain symptoms deserve immediate medical attention.

Seek emergency evaluation if someone experiences:
• Loss of consciousness
• Repeated vomiting
• Severe headache
• Confusion that worsens
• Difficulty waking up
• Weakness or numbness

When medically necessary, CT or MRI can help physicians evaluate more serious injuries. Always follow your healthcare provider's guidance after a head injury.
