At CommunityHealth, we understand the tremendous needs of the uninsured population in Chicago– a population that continues to grow in today’s economic climate. Thanks to an innovative and highly effective model supported by volunteerism, philanthropy and partnerships, CommunityHealth will provide 30,000 medical and dental visits at our West Town location this year for over 9,000 patients. physicia

ns, nurses, dentists, counselors, donors (individuals, foundations, corporations, etc.) and various institutional (e.g. hospitals, medical schools, universities/graduate programs) and community partners recognize the critical role that CommunityHealth is playing in the health of those in our society who would otherwise go without care they need. While primary care is the cornerstone of our mission, CommunityHealth is a full service, appointment-based medical home providing more than 20 specialty services (from cardiology to ultrasound), health education, case management and social work (available both on-site and through formal referral partners). CommunityHealth is one of the largest volunteer-based health centers in the nation. We provide primary and specialty care, medications, lab testing, mental health services, and health education at no cost to low-income, uninsured and underinsured adults in Chicago.

At a time when Medicaid eligibility changes are looming and quality healthcare continues to be inaccessible to so many, CommunityHealth is meeting the moment with real solutions.

One of our community partners, The University of Chicago's BREATHE Lab, is seeking behavioral health providers from the Chicagoland area to participate in a 60-minute paid focus group study on Zoom. Our Health Education & Outreach Team has been booked and busy! Here are some of the places we've hit this summer:

- Salvadorian Consulate
- Guatemalan Consulate
- Mexican Consulate
- Ecuadorian Fest
- Onward House Health Fair
- Wicker Park Health Fair

And more! Our Outreach Team makes a continuous effort to connect with communities in Chicago to share resources to anyone who may need them.

In addition to these events, we have hosted many workshops in our headquarters at West Town so far this summer.

CommunityHealth was proud to participate in the Little Village Enlace Health Fair on August 22nd! We had a great turnout and enjoyed connecting with community members and sharing information about our clinic, vaccines, and upcoming events like Corazón con Sazón. A special thank you to our amazing volunteer, Nazia Babul, for providing blood pressure and glucose checks to attendees!
