Meet Halle Wanless, PT, DPT

Why did you decide to become a Physical Therapist?
Growing up as an athlete, I was frequently in and out of physical therapy and always looked forward to my time there. Those experiences showed me how powerful movement can be in helping people recover and regain confidence. I’ve always enjoyed encouraging others to stay active and find ways to move that work for them, so physical therapy felt like a natural fit. I love that it allows me to advocate for movement while helping people improve their function and get back to doing what they love.
 
What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I enjoy running and walking on the lakefront, especially when the weather is nice. I also love game nights and am always excited to learn and play new games.
 
Fun fact:
I am one of four kids and all four of us went to the University of Illinois! I-L-L!
 
Where are you from?
Born in Chicago, I spent my early years in the city before growing up in the western suburbs. I went to the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign for Undergrad and went to Northwestern University for my Doctor of Physical Therapy.
