One of my favorite parts of events like Self-Care Social is hearing a phrase, perspective, or idea that sticks with me long after the day is over.

Not because it’s revolutionary, but because it puts words to something I’ve been feeling, noticing, or learning.

These are a few of the things I heard that made me pause and think, “Yep. That one is coming with me.”

Have you heard anything lately that just clicked?

What if growth wasn’t about pushing harder?

One of the questions that inspired this new practice inside the Balanced Awakening Collective was:

“What does it actually look like to build capacity, not just cope?”

Many of us know how to get through difficult moments. We know how to manage, push through, or step away when things feel overwhelming.

But sometimes we find ourselves hitting the same limits over and over again.

This guided practice with Sherraine Miller, LPC, ATR-P offers a gentler approach. Instead of forcing change or ignoring your limits, it invites you to get curious about them.

🌿 What happens at your edge?
🌿 What helps you stay?
🌿 What feels like too much?
🌿 What feels like just enough?

Now available inside the Balanced Awakening Collective.

One of the most important parts of therapy is having space to process.

Sometimes that means exploring a specific challenge. Sometimes it means talking through your week and making sense of what you’re carrying.

Not every therapist takes the same approach. For Allie Cromer, LCSW, therapy is collaborative, flexible, and guided by what feels most important in the moment, while still keeping your larger goals in mind.

The hope is that therapy feels less like following a script and more like having a meaningful conversation that helps you move forward.

Questions you’re allowed to ask your therapist 👀

Many people come into therapy with unspoken rules about what they can and can’t ask.

But therapy is a relationship, and sometimes the questions people are most hesitant to ask can lead to important conversations.

In this video, Erica Hartmus, LPC shares a few topics that clients are often surprised they’re allowed to bring into the therapy room.

What questions have you always wondered if you could ask a therapist?

One of the most requested topics inside the Balanced Awakening Collective is something people rarely talk about openly:

What happens when you feel deeply attached to your therapist?

We recently added two new audio supports to our library:

✨ When You Feel Attached to Your Therapist
✨ Between Session Support

These guided audios are designed to help you navigate attachment, longing, emotional intensity, and the moments between sessions when you may be missing the connection, presence, or support that therapy provides.

These experiences are more common than many people realize, and they deserve understanding rather than shame.

Because healing doesn’t only happen during the therapy hour.

How do you know when you’re finally where you want to be? When life is not only tolerable, but truly peaceful?

For me, it came with the realization that I wasn’t bracing for anything anymore.

No constant anticipation.
No waiting for the other shoe to drop.
No living in survival mode.

Sometimes healing looks less like “feeling amazing” and more like finally feeling safe enough to exhale.

What does peace look like to you?

The part of therapy no one really sees 👀

Behind every session is time spent reflecting, documenting, planning, and making sure care stays thoughtful and intentional. It may not be glamorous, but it’s an important part of ethical, high-quality therapy work. ✨

Sometimes therapists practice mindfulness.
Sometimes therapists order Taco Bell and hope for the best.

Come with us to Self-Care Social in Chicago.

We loved getting to experience a space centered on restoration, connection, and intentional care. From wellness vendors to grounding experiences, it was a reminder that self-care is not just about doing more for ourselves. Sometimes it is about slowing down enough to notice what our nervous system has been asking for.

A beautiful day of community, reflection, and small moments of reconnection.
