😩 Barely slept, but the day still needs you? The goal isn't to perform at 100 percent. It's to get through with as much energy and focus as you can.

🛌🏾 The American Academy of Sleep Medicine has found Black adults are more likely to deal with short sleep, poor sleep quality, and undiagnosed sleep disorders like sleep apnea.

☕ Use caffeine early and in moderation, focus on the one or two tasks that truly can't wait, and try a short walk or a few minutes in the sun to shake off the fog.

💬 One rough night isn't a disaster, so skip the panic. But if exhaustion, loud snoring or trouble sleeping keeps happening, it's worth a conversation with your doctor. 😩☕✨

For Domestic Violence Awareness Month, therapist Dr. Ashley Lowe-Simmons and survivor and advocate Melody Gross of Courageous Shift join Shameika Rhymes on Soulibration on BlackDoctor for a conversation about financial abuse. We’ll explore the signs that often go unnoticed, how financial control can make leaving difficult, and what rebuilding financial independence and confidence can look like.

🏈 In 2007, Steelers safety Ryan Clark nearly died during a game in Denver. He knew he carried the sickle cell trait, but not how serious it could get.

⛰️ The high altitude and intense exertion triggered a crisis that cost him his spleen and gallbladder and ended his season. Today he's an ESPN analyst and advocate.

📊 A study of 47,944 Black U.S. Army soldiers found those with the trait had a 54 percent higher risk of exertional rhabdomyolysis, a dangerous breakdown of muscle tissue.

💬 Know your status, hydrate, build up training slowly, and never tough it out through extreme muscle pain or trouble breathing. Newborn screening results are worth sharing with coaches. 🏈⛰️✨

Ryan Clark was a carrier of the sickle cell trait (SCT), and although he was aware of the condition, as he later recalls, he “didn’t know the severity” of SCD.

The Know Your Lemons app can help you create a personalized breast health plan, learn the 12 signs and stay on top of screenings.

📲 Download the app at KnowYourLemons.org/app and share this PSA with someone you love.

Getting older is a privilege — so why are women still made to feel like they should hide every sign of it? 🤎

At 61, Jasmine Guy is pushing back against the pressure women, especially Black women, face to look perpetually young. From social media commentary to unrealistic beauty standards, aging can feel like something women are expected to apologize for instead of embrace.

Her message? There’s beauty in the years, experiences and wisdom that come with simply living. ✨

As Guy puts it, the internet can ask women to celebrate life while simultaneously criticizing the evidence that they’ve lived it.

💬 Do you think social media has made women more afraid of aging?
