Our new Alumni in Action series highlights physicians sharing their expertise across pediatrics. This month we're proud to feature alumnus Christopher Bolling, MD (Residency Class of 1990, Chief Resident 1991), who will present Grand Rounds at St. Elizabeth Healthcare on August 5.

His presentation, The Future Is "Hear" and Now, focuses on helping children with deafness develop listening and spoken language.

Innovation that improves quality of life.

The FAST-02 clinical trial found that FLASH proton therapy—delivered in less than a second—provided meaningful pain relief for patients with painful bone metastases in the chest while maintaining an encouraging safety profile.

After more than a century of research, a promising breakthrough may be on the horizon.

A clinical trial co-led by Cincinnati Children's researchers found that an investigational oral vaccine candidate provided 89% protection against Shigella sonnei—an important milestone in the effort to combat one of the world's leading causes of diarrheal disease.

Congratulations to Dr. Robert Frenck and the many Cincinnati Children's investigators and collaborators whose work is helping move this research forward.
