Reminder for family caregivers:

You are allowed to rest.

Taking a break does not mean you love your parent or loved one any less.

Caregiver burnout is real, and trying to do everything alone eventually affects your own physical and emotional health too.

Sometimes support is not about “needing strangers.”Sometimes it’s about protecting your own well-being so you can continue showing up for the people you love!

For 23 years, I’ve sat with families during some of the hardest and most emotional moments of their lives. As a medical social worker, I’ve seen the fear, exhaustion, guilt, confusion, and heartbreak that can come with trying to care for an aging parent or loved one.

I’ve also seen how much of a difference the right support can make. 💜

That’s a big part of why I created Bridging the Gap Senior Care, LLC

I wanted families to have someone who truly understands both the healthcare side and the human side of caregiving — someone who knows how overwhelming it can feel when you’re trying to balance work, family, emotions, appointments, safety concerns, and simply wanting the very best for someone you love.

This work is personal to me!!! It’s never just been about providing a service. It’s about helping people feel supported, cared for, and less alone during difficult transitions.

Whether a family needs companionship for a loved one, help after a hospitalization, respite for an exhausted caregiver, or simply someone to guide them through the process — I’m grateful to be able to help.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me over the years. Supporting families through these seasons of life is truly an honor.

Sometimes holidays bring more than memories.

They also bring realization.

You may have noticed this weekend that Mom repeated herself more often.
Dad seemed weaker getting around.
Maybe medications were confusing.
Maybe meals, hygiene, safety, or memory changes felt different than the last visit.

These moments can be emotional and overwhelming for families.

One of the hardest parts of aging is recognizing when a loved one may need more support than before.
