As a night owl, I’ve always hated 5am daily wake ups… but somehow this week I looked forward to it 🥹
After a week in the OR, I leave with an immense amount of respect for OMFS (and the whole surgical team). This week I saw a jaw cut in half to remove oral cancer, a radical neck dissection, nerves repaired, a face profile changed, and so much more. Walking into the hospital, preparing for surgery, cleaning up—it was all a beautifully choreographed dance. These surgeries save lives and change lives, and I’m not sure if the average person realizes how complex it is working in this area. You’re millimeters away from facial nerves, a fatal nick in the carotid artery, and an aesthetically changed face. Mad respect to my OMFS folks. Keep on doing what you’re doing 🙏🙏🙏
