Thank you to everyone who attended our Speech-Language Pathology Autism Immersion event today! A huge thank you to our speakers, especially our self-advocate and caregiver panelists, for sharing your remarkable insights with us. It was wonderful to gather together to share strategies, brainstorm avenues for collaboration, and uncover concrete tools to help neurodiverse patients communicate and express themselves. We can't wait for next year!

Thompson Center researchers recently attended the International Society for Autism Research, INSAR annual meeting in Prague! There, we showcased some of the transformative research taking place at the Thompson Center with collaborators, including findings from the Early Years research study. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share outcomes from our research core around the world and learn from the insights of other renowned researchers.

We're traveling back in time to our Jurassic experience at our Grand Opening! 🦖 We had a blast joining visitors as they met Iggy the T-Rex, took photos, grabbed some dinosaur cookies and prizes, and explored a prehistoric setting. A huge thank you to SPARK for Autism and St Louis Dinosaur for partnering with us on this event!

Today, we're giving a special thank you to our speech-language pathologists! 🌟

These communication superheroes help patients develop effective ways to communicate and express themselves, from sharing basic needs to refining interpersonal and social skills. Our speech-language pathologists have busy days — on a typical day, they might assess communication skills during an evaluation, work one-on-one with patients, help families develop new skills with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, and run an engaging social skills group for preteens, just to name a few things. We're so grateful for this amazing team and all that they do for our families! Thank you, speech-language pathologists!
