Therapists are really good at holding space for everyone else.
But somewhere between the sessions, the notes, the emails, the crisis calls, the family obligations, and the never-ending to-do list… BUSY can quietly become an identity. And when being needed starts to feel like being valuable, slowing down can feel almost uncomfortable.
Our movement towards purpose, self-awareness, and moving beyond the constant need to prove our value has me thinking …maybe it isn't about how much more you can balance or carry. Maybe it's about putting something down.
Maybe it's about stepping away, being cared for, sitting in silence, laughing without watching the clock, sleeping deeply and remembering who we are underneath all the roles we carry.
As therapists and healers, we spend our lives creating spaces where other people can exhale, unravel, reconnect, and come home to themselves. But where do we go to do the same?
Because your fullest calendar is not necessarily your fullest life.
Maybe your next level isn't about figuring out how to fit more in. Maybe it's about creating enough space to ask:
What do I need now?
Because the person who holds everyone else deserves to be held, too.
