September is National Recovery Month, a time to celebrate the strength of those in recovery, honor the courage it takes to ask for help, and recognize the people and communities who make recovery possible.

We know that recovery is more than a treatment plan. It's built through connection with counselors, peers, family, staff, and a community that reminds you that you don't have to climb alone.

Every conversation, every moment of encouragement, and every step forward matters. This Recovery Month, we're celebrating our patients and everyone who continues to walk alongside them.

Recovery happens together. And together, we keep climbing.

On Overdose Awareness Day, our Basecamp community came together to honor the lives lost to overdose and recognize the impact their absence has on families, friends, and communities.

Our staff wore purple in remembrance, while our patients gathered to release balloons in memory of those who hold a special place in their hearts. Each balloon carried a reminder of someone who was loved, someone who mattered, and someone who will never be forgotten.

While the day was filled with moments of reflection and grief, it was also a reminder of why we do what we do. Every person deserves the opportunity to seek help, find hope, and pursue recovery.

To everyone who joined us in remembering those we've lost: thank you. May we continue to honor their lives by supporting those who are still here and working toward a future where fewer families have to experience this loss. 💜

Today, we celebrate someone who has been an incredible part of the Basecamp Recovery Center story from the very beginning.

Please join us in congratulating Terry Donohue, the recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award. Terry has been alongside Dr. Rob since Basecamp first began, helping lay the foundation for the recovery center we are today. Through the years, his dedication, compassion, and commitment have left a lasting mark - not only on Basecamp, but on the countless patients, families, and colleagues whose lives he has touched.

Terry's contributions extend far beyond a job or a title. He has been part of the growth, the challenges, the victories, and the moments that have shaped Basecamp into the recovery center it is today. His willingness to show up, support others, and believe in the mission has helped create a stronger organization and a stronger community.

As Terry begins his well-deserved retirement, we want to take a moment to recognize the legacy he leaves behind. While we will certainly miss having him with us, the impact of his years at Basecamp will continue through the people he supported and the work he helped build.

Terry, thank you for believing in Basecamp from the beginning, for dedicating so much of yourself to our mission, and for helping make a difference in the lives of so many. We are incredibly grateful for your years of service and honored to celebrate everything you've contributed.

August Outreach Highlights at Basecamp Recovery Center!

August was a month filled with connection, collaboration, and opportunities to serve our community. Our team was proud to show up alongside organizations across Columbus to meet people where they are and connect them with resources and support.

🌴 Island Party — Hosted by Make-A-Day and Fund The Climb Foundation, this event brought organizations together to provide meals, clothing, services, and essential resources to members of the Columbus community.

🤝 Restored Citizen Summit — We were honored to be part of an event bringing together hundreds of formerly incarcerated individuals, families, advocates, and service providers, all working toward successful community reentry and stronger support systems.

🕊️ Hope Spot Community Overdose Awareness Event — We joined our community to provide resources and services while honoring and remembering the lives lost to overdose and standing in support of those continuing their recovery journey.

Every outreach opportunity is a chance to build connections, share resources, and remind our community that support is available. At Basecamp, we believe recovery doesn't happen in isolation, it happens through connection, compassion, and community.

Thank you to every organization and community member working alongside us to make a difference. Together, we're helping more people take the next step in their climb. 💙🏔️

💙 Six Years of Basecamp Recovery Center! 🏔️

What better way to celebrate six years of Basecamp than by stepping away from the office and coming together as one team? Our East and West teams gathered for a day filled with powerful words from inspiring speakers, fun games, catered food, and meaningful team-building activities.

While our work is centered around supporting our patients, days like this give us the opportunity to celebrate the people behind that work. Every day, our employees show up with compassion, dedication, and a commitment to helping patients navigate the climb toward recovery.

To every member of the Basecamp team: thank you. Your work matters. The conversations you have, the support you provide, and the hope you help create can make a lasting difference in someone's life.

Six years is a milestone worth celebrating, but we're even more excited for everything still ahead. Here's to the people who make Basecamp what it is, and to continuing to grow, support one another, and change lives together. 💙

Recovery is stronger when we work as a team.

Our patients recently came together for a fun game of flag football, enjoying the sunshine, building teamwork, and strengthening the sense of community that makes recovery possible. Even members of our Basecamp staff laced up their shoes and joined in right alongside them.

At Basecamp Recovery Center, healing happens through connection. When our staff step onto the field, they're doing more than playing a game - they're building trust, sharing laughs, offering encouragement, and reminding our patients that they have a team walking beside them every step of the way. Recovery isn't just about treatment; it's about creating meaningful relationships and a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued.

Whether it's in a therapy group, a game of football, or everyday conversations, we're committed to meeting our patients where they are and celebrating every victory together.
