🌳 6 YEARS OF BRINGING OUR COMMUNITY TOGETHER!

What started as a simple idea—bringing resources directly to the people who need them—has grown into something pretty incredible.

And in just 8 DAYS, we're doing it again! 🎉

Our 6th Annual SOCTOBER Community Resource Event is shaping up to be one of our biggest yet, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone!

🚁 Touch-a-Truck — Patrol cars, emergency vehicles, the Sheriff's BearCat, and more!

🤝 Village of Resources — Over 20 community organizations ready to share information, services, and opportunities!

👕 The Village Closet — Free clothing and essentials for individuals and families!

📚 Library Bookmobile — Books, library cards, and community resources!

🎶 Music, activities, giveaways, and our favorite mascots! 🦝🐿️

But the BEST part?

You don't have to need a resource to come enjoy SOCTOBER. Come meet your neighbors, bring the kids, learn something new, and see what happens when an entire community comes together. 💙

We’re excited to welcome Ohio Psychiatric Services to the SOCTOBER Village this year! 🌳

Ohio Psychiatric Services provides compassionate, patient-centered mental health care with individualized treatment plans designed around each person’s needs. Their mission is centered on providing high-quality mental health services that enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and the community. Ohio Psychiatric Services

Their services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, counseling, genetic testing, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and SPRAVATO® (esketamine) treatment. Their team works with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, OCD, panic disorder, schizophrenia, insomnia, and more. We’re especially excited to add another mental health resource to this year’s Village. SOCTOBER is about making connections easier and bringing organizations together so our community can learn what resources and support are available.

💜💙💚 RECOVERY MONTH MAY BE WINDING DOWN… BUT RECOVERY DOESN’T.

As September comes to a close, we’re reminded that Recovery Month is more than 30 days on a calendar. The conversations, connections, celebrations, and stories of hope continue all year long.

This month, we’ve celebrated recovery, challenged our community partners to help spread the message, honored the people doing the work every day, and reminded our communities of one very important truth:

RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE. 🙌

To every person taking life one day at a time, every family member cheering someone on, every professional walking beside them, and every community partner helping break the stigma—keep going.

September may be ending, but we’re just getting started. 💙💚

There is hope. There is help. Recovery is possible.

💙💚 SOCTOBER 2026 | MEET THE VILLAGE 💚💙

Some organizations have been part of our Village year after year, and Athens HOPE is one of them! 🌳💜

We’re excited to welcome Athens HOPE back for our 6th Annual SOCTOBER Community Resource Event!

HOPE stands for Helping Overcome substance use disorder through Prevention and Education. Founded in 2017, Athens HOPE is a community initiative working to address the impact of the opioid epidemic and substance use disorder in our community. athenshope

Their work focuses on education, community-building, advocacy, supporting those providing direct services, and reducing the stigma surrounding substance use disorder through greater inclusion and acceptance. athenshope

Athens HOPE also helps connect the community with important resources while supporting professionals, agencies, and volunteers doing this work throughout our area. athenshope
That mission fits SOCTOBER perfectly. 💙

We are especially grateful that Athens HOPE continues to show up year after year and be part of the Village we are building.

Partnerships like this are what SOCTOBER is all about—organizations coming together, sharing resources, reducing stigma, and making sure our community knows support is available.
