✨ Employee Spotlight: Leah ✨

This month, we're proud to recognize Leah, our dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) in Athens, who will celebrate 4 years with Southwestern Recovery Center this October! 💙

Leah's passion for recovery work comes from both personal insight and a desire to help others. Having witnessed the challenges of the recovery journey, she also understands the incredible transformation that can happen when individuals receive the support they need.

"I've seen how challenging the recovery journey can be, but also how transformative it is with the right support. That inspired me to be part of that process and help others feel seen, supported, and capable of change."

For Leah, compassionate care means treating the whole person—not just their illness or circumstances. She believes in showing empathy, respecting each individual's dignity, offering reassurance, and tailoring her approach to meet each person's unique needs.

What Leah enjoys most about working at Southwestern Recovery Center is knowing that her work truly makes a difference. Over the years, she has built meaningful connections with both patients and coworkers and finds fulfillment in supporting individuals through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

One of the moments that continues to inspire her is witnessing patients reach important milestones in their recovery journey.

"The incredible moment when a patient hits a milestone in their recovery—that is always so awesome!"

💬 Leah's message to those in recovery:

"There is life beyond this moment. Even on the hardest days, progress is happening. Keep going—you're building something better, one step at a time."

🏞️ Fun Fact: When she's not at work, Leah enjoys side-by-side (SxS) trail riding with her family and spending time outdoors.

Thank you, Leah, for your compassion, dedication, and commitment to helping others find hope and healing. We are grateful to have you on the Southwestern Recovery Center team! 💙
