"Learning Aid Ohio has given our learners the extra support they need to grow academically and build confidence. Both of our learners have IEPs, and this program has connected them with quality tutoring and therapy support that we may not have otherwise been able to access.

Meet Mary!

Mary has been tutoring at the Loveland Branch of the Hamilton County Cincinnati Public Library since summer 2025. Through Learning Aid Ohio, she provides individualized tutoring for learners in preschool through sixth grade, with a focus on reading, writing, and math.

“I enjoy being part of my learners' educational growth and success. Their progress comes not only from academic achievement, but also from learning how to navigate school expectations with the support of effective tutoring resources.”

Mary takes time to understand each learner’s strengths, needs, and school experiences while working closely with families to support growth and confidence. She uses engaging activities and resources such as graphic organizers, math charts, and writing templates to help learners build skills and recognize their own strengths.

We’re grateful to have Mary as part of the Learning Aid Ohio community!

2,116 Learners. 31,540 Hours of Tutoring. One Question: What's Next?

In 2025, Learning Aid Ohio provided supplemental educational support to 2,116 learners and more than 31,000 hours of one-on-one tutoring across 64 Ohio counties.

We are proud of that reach.

Now we want to learn from the people behind those numbers.

"Our son lost his vision in first grade, and his learning journey changed from blending letters and learning to read print to mastering braille. Through determination and hard work, he has become proficient in braille and continues to grow as a reader. His tutor, Mrs. Joseph, has been incredible. She has learned braille alongside him, explored resources for blind students, and continually encouraged and challenged him to reach new goals. Her one-on-one support has made an incredible difference.

Our family and our son's school team have seen tremendous growth in his reading abilities. One of our favorite moments was watching him and Mrs. Joseph celebrate together after he reached a reading goal they had worked so hard toward. Meet Hannah!

Hannah, is a Learning Aid Ohio tutor who is passionate about helping learners build confidence, strengthen their skills, and feel successful in their learning journey!

“I am a patient, supportive tutor who will meet your learner where they are! I would love to help your learner grow in confidence, strengthen their skills, and make learning a positive experience.”

For Hannah, one of her favorite parts of tutoring is watching learners gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. Seeing learners feel successful and comfortable while learning is what makes each session so rewarding!

Today we’re celebrating one year of Troy Hunter as President & CEO of ElevateDD!

Over the past year, Troy has helped advance ElevateDD’s work across Ohio while keeping a strong focus on our mission of creating greater opportunities for people with developmental disabilities and their families. His leadership has helped move important conversations forward and strengthen our vision for authentic inclusion.

Students with diapering and toileting support needs have the right to access school with dignity, safety, and appropriate support. This webinar will walk families, educators, school leaders, and support professionals through Ohio’s multi-agency guidance on diapering and toileting hygiene in schools.

The session will focus on what the guidance means in practice, how schools and families can work together, and how Routine Personal Care Plans can support student independence, privacy, health, and inclusion. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of best practices, common planning questions, and practical ways to support children across early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school settings.
