As we wrap up National Midwifery Week, we’re ending on a special note with our newest team member, Abigail “Gail” Butler, CNM, sharing why she loves being a midwife! 🤍

Gail may have only been with us for a few weeks, but she already feels like she’s been part of the family for so much longer. We’re so excited to have her and feel so lucky that our patients get to experience her care, compassion, and passion for midwifery.

Today, we’re featuring our wonderful Katelyn Richer, CNM! ✨ Katelyn is sharing what she loves about being a midwife, and we couldn’t be more grateful to have someone with so much heart and passion caring for our patients.

A very special milestone: Katelyn recently delivered her 150th baby at Concord OBGYN!👶💕

Katelyn brings so much joy to what she does, and it’s hard to catch her without a big, beautiful smile on her face! The compassion, positivity, and love she brings to her work make such a difference in the lives of the families she cares for.

Katelyn, thank you for sharing your heart with our patients and our team. We’re so lucky to have you in our fabulous 7! 💗

🌿 Day 3 of National Midwifery Week 🌿

What makes a midwife so special? It’s more than the care they provide — it’s the way they listen, support, educate, encourage, and truly get to know the person behind the appointment.

And the impact of that kind of care matters. Research consistently shows that midwife-led continuity of care is associated with fewer unnecessary interventions, lower cesarean birth rates, and higher patient satisfaction.

Say hi 👋 to Angela Jones, CNM, one of our newest members of the Concord OBGYN midwifery team. We feel incredibly lucky to have Angela here. Not only for her knowledge and experience, but for the genuine passion she brings to caring for her patients.

🌿 Celebrating our Midwives Day 2! 🌿

There’s something truly special about midwifery. It’s about listening, building trust, answering the questions you’re sometimes nervous to ask, and being there for the big moments and all the little ones in between. ❤️

Our midwives care for patients through so many chapters! From adolescence and preconception, to pregnancy and birth, postpartum, lactation, contraception, and beyond. They bring knowledge, compassion, advocacy, and a whole lot of heart to the care they provide every day.

Today, we’re giving you a little glimpse into what makes our midwives so special, featuring one of our newest team members, Morgan King, CNM, WHNP. We’re so lucky to have her and every one of our incredible midwives on our team. 🫶

And a fun fact about Morgan: she was born and raised in Kenya, Africa, and speaks Swahili fluently! 🌍🇰🇪

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

All of October, we’re raising awareness, encouraging prevention and early detection to help save lives. If you’re in one of our three offices, you will see our staff wearing pink every Thursday this month.

Breast cancer doesn’t always come with warning signs, which is why routine screening and knowing what is normal for your body are so important. Talk with your healthcare provider about when mammography and other breast health screenings are right for you, especially if you have a family history or other risk factors.

At Concord OBGYN, this cause is especially meaningful because breast cancer has touched our own. We are honored to have breast cancer survivors among our staff, and we are proud to recognize their strength, resilience, and courage💗 Their stories are a beautiful reminder of the importance of awareness, early detection, support, and hope.

To the warriors, survivors, our patients, our families, and everyone affected by breast cancer: we stand with you.

This October, take a moment to prioritize your breast health — and encourage the women you love to do the same. 🎀

An important story to share as we enter . The team at Emerson Health is incredible 💕

Peace O. of Leominster noticed breast pain that did not feel right when she was just 27 years old. She had a young son and was in the middle of weaning him from breastfeeding.

With no family history of breast cancer and her young age, cancer was the furthest thing from Peace's mind. She thought she was too young to be at risk.

Still, she trusted her instincts and reached out to her primary care doctor. Tests revealed an aggressive form of breast cancer.

Today, after surgery and treatment, Peace is doing well—raising her son, working as a trauma therapist, and sharing her story so others know this: age, life stage and family history should never be reasons to ignore a change in your body.

Another important message she has for anyone going through what she did is that "No one has to navigate this journey alone. There are support groups and therapists available who specialize in the mental health impact of cancer."

Most breast changes are not cancer. But a new lump, persistent pain, changes in breast size or shape, skin changes, or ni**le discharge when not breastfeeding are all worth discussing with your health care provider.

Routine mammograms matter. So does listening to your body between screenings.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let Peace’s story be a reminder: awareness is more than wearing pink. It is paying attention, speaking up and getting checked when something does not feel right.

✨ Please join us in welcoming Rebecca Smith, DNP, FNP-BC, to the Concord OBGYN family! 🩺

Rebecca provides compassionate, patient-centered care and building meaningful relationships with her patients through every stage of life. Whether you’re coming in for a routine well-woman visit, contraception counseling, adolescent gynecology, reproductive health care, or healthy pregnancy support, she’s committed to making every patient feel heard, comfortable, and supported.

A Massachusetts native who grew up in Shrewsbury, Rebecca earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from UMass Chan Medical School and is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC.

When she’s not caring for patients, you’ll find her spending time with family and friends—or relaxing at home with her cat, Abby. 🐱

Rebecca is now seeing patients in our Concord and Sudbury offices. We are so excited to have her on our team and can’t wait for you to meet her! 💕
