Today, we’re celebrating the unconditional love, loyalty, and endless joy that our four-legged family members bring into our lives. 🐶

At Diablo Valley Cremation & Funeral Services, we know just how deeply our pets become part of our families. They greet us at the door, make us laugh when we need it most, and somehow always know when we need a little extra love. ❤️

Some bittersweet news from the Diablo Valley family…

At the end of this month, we’ll be saying goodbye to our wonderful team member, Robin. Her last day with us will be July 31 as she begins an exciting new chapter—becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom to her sweet daughter.

While we are certainly going to miss Robin’s kindness, compassion, and dedication to the families we serve, we couldn’t be happier for her. The opportunity to spend these precious early years at home is truly a blessing, and we’re so grateful she has that opportunity.

Robin, thank you for being such an important part of the Diablo Valley family. Your caring heart has touched so many lives, and you’ll always have a place here. We wish you and your family a lifetime of love, laughter, and beautiful memories together.

If you're looking for an amazing local catering option, we highly recommend Graze Craze in Pleasant Hill! 🧀🥪

We recently had a family choose Graze Craze to cater a gathering, and the presentation was absolutely beautiful. Today, we stopped by their shop to pick up one of their lunch charcuterie boxes, and we were even more impressed. The store is spotless, welcoming, and every detail is thoughtfully done.

The owner, Michelle, was incredibly kind and genuine. You can tell she truly cares about her customers and takes great pride in creating a wonderful experience.

Graze Craze offers stunning charcuterie boards, fresh sandwiches, and options that are as delicious as they are beautiful.

Please join us in congratulating Heather Robertshaw, our newest Embalmer Apprentice at Diablo Valley.

Heather joined the Diablo Valley family in August 2025 and officially began her embalming apprenticeship in December. Since joining our team, she has demonstrated a strong work ethic, compassion, and a genuine commitment to serving the families who place their trust in us.

Heather is currently attending American River College and has just one semester remaining before earning her Mortuary Science degree. Once she graduates, she will continue completing her two-year embalming apprenticeship before taking the California State Board examination to become a licensed embalmer.

At Diablo Valley, we are passionate about mentoring the next generation of funeral professionals, and we are honored to be part of Heather’s journey. We look forward to providing the education, experience, and guidance that will help her become an outstanding embalmer and continue our tradition of compassionate, dignified care.

Congratulations, Heather! We are proud to have you on our team and can’t wait to see all you accomplish.

Today we're celebrating a very special milestone!

Please join us in congratulating Hannah on earning her California Embalmer's License! 🎉

This achievement is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Hannah spent two years earning her Mortuary Science degree, followed by a two-year apprenticeship, where she gained invaluable hands-on experience caring for those entrusted to us. After countless hours of studying and preparation, she successfully passed the California State Board examination and is now a licensed embalmer.

We are incredibly proud of Hannah and all she has accomplished. Her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to serving families make her an invaluable member of our team, and we look forward to watching her continue to grow in her career.

Jay was recognized during the Sheriff's Annual SAVES (Sheriff's All Volunteer Extended Services) Awards Luncheon, which honors the dedicated volunteers who generously give their time in administrative and support roles throughout the agency.
