Freelance Fridays 💪🩹 | Mild Muscle Cramp or Strain
Overuse, an awkward movement, or even sleeping the wrong way can leave your muscles sore or tight. Most mild muscle cramps or strains can be managed safely at home.
What to do:
1️⃣ Gently stretch the muscle — stop if it hurts (don’t force it)
2️⃣ Hydrate with water or an electrolyte drink
3️⃣ Use ice for swelling or recent strain (first 24–48 hours)
4️⃣ Use heat for tight, stiff muscles once swelling has gone down
Helpful tips:
✔️ Rest the muscle
✔️ Ease back into activity slowly
✔️ Gentle movement can help prevent stiffness
When pain means it’s more than mild:
🚩 Severe or worsening pain
🚩 Swelling or bruising that increases
🚩 Numbness or weakness
🚩 Pain that doesn’t improve after a few days
🛑 This is for basic, non-emergency care. If symptoms worsen or you’re unsure, seek medical care.
