Jessie Eugene Zimmerman passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 11am until time of the service at 1pm. The service is over. The food has been put away. The last car has pulled out of the driveway.

And suddenly, the house is silent.

This is one of the loneliest moments in grief, and almost no one talks about it.

For days, people surrounded you. There were calls to make, hands to hold, things to arrange. The busyness, as painful as it was, kept you moving. And now it's just... quiet.

The grief that lives in that silence is real. It's not a sign that something is wrong with you. It's a sign of how deeply you loved.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day. We're thinking of every family who has ever stood in that silence.
