School or stay home? Sometimes the answer might surprise you!

A runny nose, green mucus, or lingering cough doesn’t automatically mean your child needs to miss school!

Here’s what to keep in mind:

⚫️Fever: Stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, especially with respiratory symptoms.
⚫️Cough & congestion: Mild, improving symptoms are generally okay if your child feels well enough to participate.
⚫️Vomiting: Your child should be able to keep food and fluids down, with vomiting resolved overnight.
⚫️Diarrhea: Stay home if stools are frequent, uncontrolled, or causing accidents.
⚫️Ear infections: No need to stay home just because of the diagnosis, as long as your child is fever-free and feeling well.

The biggest question? Is your child feeling well enough to participate in their normal school activities?

Always check your school’s illness policy, as requirements may vary.

💙 October is National Bullying Prevention Month! 💜

Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and included—at school, online, and in our community.

Help your child make a difference:
💬 Talk regularly about their day, friendships, and online experiences.
🤝 Encourage them to include others and speak up safely.
🗣️ Remind them to tell a trusted adult if they experience or witness bullying.
💜 Model kindness and respect in everyday interactions.

If your child shares that they are being bullied, listen calmly, reassure them that it isn’t their fault, and work with their school to address it. They shouldn’t have to handle it alone.

HUGE, EXCITING NEWS! Our Coppell office is getting a permanent home! 💜💙❤️

We are thrilled to announce that MD Pediatric Associates’ future Coppell home will be located at 109 Natches Trace, Coppell, TX 75019, just half a mile from our current office and across from Coppell ISD Middle School North!

🚧 Construction is underway, and we’re hopeful we’ll be welcoming patients into our new space by the end of the year or early 2027!

This move marks an exciting new chapter for our practice, giving us a permanent place to continue caring for your children and growing alongside the families we serve.

We’ll share construction updates, sneak peeks, and our official opening date as things progress. Until then, we look forward to seeing you at our current Coppell office!
