Procedure day for UFE is more straightforward than most people expect. You're in and out the same day, typically monitored for a few hours afterward before heading home. 🩺

What follows next is something we don't talk about enough: post-embolization syndrome.

✔ It's your body's normal inflammatory response to the fibroid losing its blood supply, not a complication.
✔ It typically starts within the first 24 to 48 hours after UFE.
✔ Common symptoms include pelvic cramping, low-grade fever, and fatigue.
✔ Most patients notice it easing within the first week, and it typically resolves on its own within 10 to 14 days.

✔ FACT: Most patients are discharged the same day and are back to light daily activity within about a week. It's a real recovery, but it's not the extended downtime many expect.

Here's the shape recovery actually takes:

Did you know the hemorrhoids everyone dreads aren't actually foreign to your body? They're a normal part of your anatomy that everyone is born with. Hemorrhoidal tissue even exists before birth.

They only become what we call hemorrhoids when they swell and become irritated, usually from added pressure.

In other words, you didn't develop some rare condition out of nowhere. A normal structure just became inflamed, and inflamed tissue can be treated.
