What an Annulargram can reveal that an MRI may miss 👀
In this image, the top disc is normal, while the bottom three discs are torn. There is a fusion in place at L5/S1. These tears in the discs, which were undetected by MRI, illustrate how a fusion can sometimes place added strain on nearby discs over time. Leaky Disc Syndrome is a significant source of chronic back pain and may be undetected with standard imaging.
By identifying all tears, the Annulargram helps guide patients toward more targeted, effective treatment.
