We say it all the time. “Check on your people.”

But are we really checking? Do we really know what that means?

One genuine moment of connection can change everything for someone who is struggling.

You may never know the impact you have. But they will.

Swipe through to learn how to check on your people in a way that actually means something. Then go text someone that means something to you.

Remember it does not have to be perfect. Just genuine. ✨

Share this with someone in your circle and encourage them to check on their people too. Because the more of us who show up the stronger our community becomes. 💚

Last week, we got to show up for our community in a meaningful way. 💚

We provided opioid education training for staff at the Danville Adult Detention Center, and we could not be more grateful for the opportunity to connect with community partners, share resources, and engage in important conversations about substance use, recovery, and evidence based treatment.

A special shoutout to our new Peer Support Specialist, Cheryl, for showing up authentically and sharing her story. Vulnerability makes all the difference and helps bring everything together.

Thank you to the Danville Adult Detention Center for welcoming us and allowing us to train some of your amazing staff.

Thank you to Southside Behavioral Health for hosting the 2nd Annual Service Members, Veterans & Families Mental Health Summit! 🇺🇸

We had a great time connecting with veterans, families, providers, and community members while sharing resources and learning from others who are passionate about supporting those who have served our country.

A special thank you to all of the speakers and presenters who shared valuable knowledge, experiences, and resources throughout the day. We are truly grateful for opportunities like this to continue learning more about the needs of our veterans and their families so we can continue growing, improving, and supporting them in the best way possible.

Thank you again for having us and for creating such a meaningful event for our community. 💚

Chapter 2 — Sometimes You Just Have to Look Up

Cam has been so busy spinning he almost missed it. ⭐

Sometimes when we are lost in our own storm we forget to look up. We forget that connection has been quietly waiting for us all along.

What if connection was closer than you thought?

This week Cam is starting to notice something. Something small. Something warm. Something that has been there the whole time.

Sound familiar? 💚

Tag someone who has been there for you when you needed it most. Let them know they matter. 💚

Chapter 1 — Meet Cam

He is a compass who is just trying to find his way. And honestly, aren’t we all?

This May mental health awareness is not just a hashtag or a ribbon. It is a journey. And Cam is just beginning his.

Every week he learns something new about mental health, connection, and what it looks like to show up for yourself and the people around you.

Follow along. You might just find your way too. 💚

Thank you so much Chatham First for hosting such an amazing event! ✨💚

We had an amazing time connecting with our community and making slime. As the kids said, we all put on our mad scientist hats to make glow slime! The evening was full of laughs, teamwork, and lots of messy hands.

Thank you again for having us. We had a glowtastic time!

Happy Earth Day from Calm Source 🌎🐴💚

Healing often begins with connection to nature, to others, and to ourselves.

Through our FREE equine therapy program for veterans and their families, we see firsthand how time outdoors and connection with animals can support mental health and recovery.

We are grateful for our partnership with Good Hope Equestrian & Regenerative Farm, Inc., whose generosity helps make this program possible.

Earth Day is a great reminder to slow down, step outside, and take care of yourself while appreciating the world around you.

How are you spending time outside today? 🌿☀️
