Angry that you still can’t run pain-free after PT for your hip?

We see a lot of people who have done PT but still have pain, especially in their hips.

This tells us that PT missed something big, so this is a test we do to see if you can actually move and control your hip in this side plank motion. If not, if we’re compensating by moving our whole body or borrowing from your upper body, this is a problem.

It’s important to dig deeper with hip pain, and if your PT is busy helping multiple other people, things can get missed very easily.

Leaking when you jump isn’t something you just have to live with.

It’s not always because you’ve had kids, or a sign that you need more kegels.

We’ve talked to women who only wear black leggings. They carry liners everywhere they go.

They feel embarrassed every time they jump, run, or workout, knowing it means rushing to the bathroom halfway through.

But a weak pelvic floor is only ONE possible cause. Sometimes, the real issue is actually a tight pelvic floor, or some other problem with your hips, core, or back, or the way it all moves and works together.

That’s why doing more kegels doesn’t help. What helps is finding out WHY you’re leaking in the first place. And not accepting that this is how it is for the rest of your life.

If your chiropractor puts you on the table…

Adjusts you…

Moves you around a bit…

And then says “Okay, see you later!”

How can you expect to get any better?

That’s putting a bandaid on the issue. The adjustment may provide some relief, but without finding the root cause of your pain and building a rehab plan around THAT, you won’t actually get results.

The gym should be your safe space.

Not the place you’re afraid of because you know your back will hurt tomorrow.

We’ve heard from our active mom patients that the pain itself is much, much easier to bear than what the pain is taking away from them.

The one hour that’s theirs. The stress relief. The confidence in their movement.

The part of them that existed before kids, schedules, and responsibilities took over.

And underneath the frustration is something even deeper: The fear that they can’t trust their body anymore. The fear that they’re losing a piece of who they are.

Back pain affects more than most people realize.

You used to have no problem doing challenging workouts. Now, you hesitate before you twist to get out of the car.

Missing workouts is frustrating. But feeling like your body is breaking down is TERRIFYING.

“Rest works”... until you try to exercise again.

The pain goes away for a few days, but if you squat, run, lift, or just move the way you want to, the pain comes back.

Why?

Because resting treats the symptom.

It doesn’t tell us why the pain showed up in the first place.

We often find the real issue somewhere else: such as poor hip mobility, or a problem in the way you move. In short: your body is compensating without you realizing it.

Once we fix that root cause and retrain how you move, you can get back to exercising with confidence.

That’s the difference between a quick fix and a long-term solution.

We don’t just chase symptoms.

We find the reason your pain keeps coming back, and we focus on that.

While this video alone won’t ensure your back is ready for hiking the Grand Canyon, it’s a good place to start!

1- Practice Front Balance
Put a weight over your shoulder, and on the same side, step up onto a bench and do a partial press up, then come back down. This helps your hip muscles initiate the movement, which is huge for hiking!

2- Practicing Downhill
Hold a weight behind your head and put your heels up on a surface, lean forward, and hold this pose for 30-45 seconds. This helps build up your endurance!
