Supporting children & families with regulation, connection & confidence 🌱

10/28/2026

🧠 ADHD Awareness Month may be coming to an end, but every day is an opportunity to reframe, better understand, and better support children impacted by ADHD. 💛

The more we know, the better we can do!

Thank you Upstate Living Show, for shining a light on this important topic. ADHD impacts not only the children navigating it, but their entire families.

✨One of the things I love most is supporting families, helping them feel seen, understood, and empowered with the knowledge and resources they need to thrive.

💛 Let’s keep the conversation going, continue learning, and remember that when we better support children, we better support the whole family, too!

🧠MINDSET SHIFT MONDAY

Old lens: “I shouldn’t have to remind them AGAIN.”

New lens: “Repeated reminders may be a sign they need more external support, not more frustration.”

“The less internal control a child has, the more external support they need.”

When you find yourself repeating the same reminder for the fifth time, but following through isn’t just about knowing what to do. It also requires executive functioning skills like remembering instructions, shifting attention, getting started, and managing multiple steps. And these skills are still developing!

✨ Instead of: “I shouldn’t have to remind them AGAIN.”

This week, try three simple shifts:

✔️ Make it visible: Use checklists, visual schedules, or picture cues.
✔️ Break it down: Give one clear, manageable direction at a time.
✔️ Pause before repeating: Ask yourself, “What might be getting in the way, and what support would help right now?”

Remember, the goal isn’t to eliminate every reminder overnight. It’s to build skills, reduce power struggles, and help our children grow in confidence and independence. And if some supports are needed long-term? That’s okay, too!

Save this reminder for the moments when follow-through feels like a battle, and share it with a parent or educator who needs this mindset shift!

Have you ever seen something advertised on social media, such as a class or experience and then when you go there it’s completely different from what you expected?

Or maybe you’ve taken a bunch of yoga classes and only 1 has stuck. It’s not because of the pose. It’s not because of the place. It’s because of the teacher or the people that shape your experience.

One thing about me is, I want everyone I work with to feel seen, valued, heard and supported.

Because long after the views fade and the scroll continues, the way you made someone feel is what they’ll remember. 💛

📣 Over the past few months, I’ve been working on something I am SUPER excited about: moving beyond 1:1 coaching and working with a small group of parents.

After 14 years of working with children and families, here’s what I know: parents are overwhelmed. They’re stretched thin. And they NEED support.

They need someone who won’t judge them. Someone who understands. Someone who can help them cut through the OVERWHELMING amount of parenting advice out there and figure out what actually works for their child and family.

That’s exactly what my Parent Reset is all about.

You won’t just be another number. I’ll know your name. I’ll know your story. And we’ll focus on what YOUR child and family actually need.

Plus, if you join my founding cohort, you’ll receive extra bonuses, including two 1:1 calls and two personalized bonuses SPECIFIC to your child.

This is a special opportunity to get more personalized support at the founding cohort discounted rate.

🧠 So grateful for the opportunity to be on Upstate Living Show to talk about ADHD Awareness Month and help bring more understanding to the ADHD brain, especially in children!

💛 Thank you for giving me a voice and a platform to share a message that matters so much.

While October shines a spotlight on ADHD, for children living with it and the families who love, support, and advocate for them, every month is ADHD awareness month.

Every day is an opportunity to replace judgment with understanding, expectations with support, and frustration with connection.

Here are 3 reframes I want to leave you with :
✨ Knowing doesn’t mean doing. Understanding what needs to be done and having the executive functioning skills to actually do it are two very different things.
✨ Regulation before expectation. We can’t expect someone to access skills they can’t reach when their brain and body are dysregulated. Connection and regulation come first.
✨ Children have to be response-able to be responsible. Before we expect children to take responsibility, we have to help them develop the skills and capacity to respond. Skills before expectations. Support before judgment.

🧠 Let’s keep learning, keep reframing, and keep making space for neurodivergent minds, not just during awareness month, but every single day.

🧠MINDSET SHIFT MONDAY

Old lens: “I can’t make accommodations for everything.”

New lens: “Small adjustments to the environment can make a big difference.”

It’s easy to focus on teaching children to push through without considering how their environment might be affecting them.

The noise, lights, crowds, textures, and constant movement can sometimes become too much.

What feels manageable to one child may feel overwhelming to another.

Sometimes, supporting regulation means reducing sensory input, offering a break, or adjusting our expectations.

Because supporting regulation isn’t always about asking children to handle more. Sometimes, it’s about recognizing what they need.

💛 A question to reflect on this Monday: What might change if we considered the environment before asking a child to push through?
